The biggest feature of this ancient tree species is drought tolerance, the root system absorbs a lot of water during the rainy season and stores it in the thick trunk, while in the dry season, the baobab tree will shed its leaves to reduce the evaporation of water, while using the water stored before to spend the dry season. Therefore, hikers who have traveled in Africa in the past have seen baobab trees, which is equivalent to finding a source of water, and it is said that digging a hole in the trunk of the tree can collect a bucket of water.
