As the "war to establish a country" for New China, the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea can be called a miracle in the world's military history; at that time, we were poor and white, and our industrial base was quite weak, but the United States was the world's top power, and its strength was not a little bit stronger than that of our country. So before the war, no country was optimistic that we would win.
However, under extremely difficult conditions, we repeatedly attacked the US troops, successfully drove the Americans back to the 38th line, and finally let the Americans sign the armistice agreement that they did not win.
This result is really rare, we were not as good as the United States in terms of logistics and weapons at that time, so why did we win? A large part of the reason is the will of the Chinese soldiers to defend their homeland!
They embarked on a battle in a foreign country, put their own lives and deaths aside long ago, and waited until the war subsided, and many people resolutely returned to their hometowns to devote themselves to the construction of the motherland.
He returned to China in 1956, and his superiors wanted to arrange a job for him, but he refused, and returned to his hometown for 44 years in anonymity. It was not until 2000, when Sun Tzu wanted to sign up for the army, that he took out his ID and wanted to "go through the back door", which was known for his exploits.
His name is Liu Zuokun!

Liu Zuokun was born in 1927 to a peasant family in Xianning, Hubei Province, and because of his poor family, Liu Zuokun helped the landlord's family herd cattle, cut firewood, and do some manual work to subsidize the family at the age of 7.
At that time, the poor were a little poor, but at least the family was reunited, but unfortunately the good times were not long, when Liu Zuokun was 15 years old, his parents were killed by Rikou for no reason, and after that, he could only eat "a hundred family meals" to grow up.
Fortunately, he was able to endure hardships, was favored by a carpenter in the same village, learned a craft to make a living, and struggled to survive in the old society.
After the founding of New China, the land reform was carried out in an all-round way, liu Zuokun was given more than ten acres of land, the farmers went to the land when they were busy, and when they were idle, they did carpentry work for the villagers, and at this time he had a wife and children, and his life was getting better day by day.
However, in 1950, the Americans burned the war to China's borders, and even warplanes crossed the border to bomb China's towns and villages, and the tragic days of the invasion of that year reappeared in front of Liu Zuokun's eyes.
Liu Zuokun understood very well that the good days now were brought about by new China, and if the motherland was not well defended, the children and grandchildren would be trampled on by the invaders. Therefore, Liu Zuokun, who had never been out of Xianning, responded to the government's call to "defend the family and defend the country, resist the United States and aid Korea", and sign up for enlistment.
Although Liu Zuokun's desire to serve the country was very strong, the organization also had to make arrangements for deployment, and it was not until two years later that Liu Zuokun received the notice to go to the DPRK.
As soon as the Mid-Autumn Festival of 1952 passed, Liu Zuokun bid farewell to his wife and children, embarked on a journey under the watchful eyes of the villagers, and became a soldier in the 122 squadron of the 122 squadron of the 305 unit of the Volunteer Army.
Although his unit was not charging on the front line, the degree of danger was not reduced in the slightest, and the US army held absolute air supremacy and often bombed our transport supply lines, Liu Zuokun They were also 'holding their heads' to contribute to the volunteer army!
In 1953, Liu Zuokun's unit was transferred to the 5th Division of a Logistics Department of the Volunteer Army, transferred to the Longcheng Railway Station in the rear to carry out support tasks, far away from the battlefield, and there were many people who made trouble at that time, after all, if they were not on the front line, there was less opportunity for meritorious service, which was a blow to soldiers with a strong sense of honor.
Liu Zuokun, however, appeared different, he did not argue, actively obeyed the arrangements of his superiors, and when he arrived at the Longcheng Railway Station, he still worked diligently every day, and he would use his manual skills to repair the warehouse facilities in addition to standing guard.
These behaviors were seen by everyone, so they received many praises from their superiors, and the leaders also called on everyone to learn from Liu Zuokun.
Sometimes it is strange to encounter this thing, some people desperately want to make a contribution but have no chance, some people do not argue but make a contribution, of course, this credit is in exchange for life!
On April 26, 1953, the 5th Division received five wagons of aviation gasoline from the rear, which was a very important strategic material, and it was Liu Zuokun's turn to be on duty that night, and they also knew the preciousness of this gasoline, so they kept on guard at all times.
After most of the night, nothing happened, Liu Zuokun thought that this day would be safely spent, but he suddenly heard the roar of the plane.
Two U.S. B-26 bombers quickly flew to the Longcheng railway station, and then dropped a series of bombs, one of which landed near the carriage filled with aviation gasoline. After the explosion, the shrapnel penetrated the iron sheet and detonated a gasoline barrel, and a pillar of fire rose in an instant, and if it was not rescued in time, I was afraid that the five carriages of strategic materials would be destroyed.
At that time, China wanted to transport things to North Korea through layers of blockades, and each batch of supplies was precious, not to mention aviation gasoline.
Therefore, Liu Zuokun did not think much about it, gritted his teeth and headed towards the burning wagon.
The US plane had not yet withdrawn at that time, and had been shooting towards the Longcheng Railway Station, Liu Zuokun cat nimbly dodged the bullets at the waist, and tried his best to reach the perimeter of the carriage.
The first carriage was hit by shrapnel one after another, and the fire could not be stopped, so Liu Zuokun resolutely rushed to the second carriage that was temporarily safe. He picked up the shovel and slammed it down the door that was already somewhat recessed, and when there was a gap, he reached in with a wooden stick to make a supporting hard pry.
When he was tired and almost collapsed, he finally opened the car door, and the time was pressing, Liu Zuokun had no time to rest, gritted his teeth and rolled the barrels of oil out of the carriage.
After he rolled down more than 20 barrels of oil, the fire had spread over, the entire carriage was baked hot, the thick fog made it difficult to see inside, and gasoline could be detonated at any time, but Liu Zuokun did not stop, he knew that if he saved a barrel of oil, there would be more chances of winning and fewer comrades in front of him.
Under this idea, even if his foot was smashed with blood by the oil drum, Liu Zuokun's movements still did not slow down by half a minute, and the surrounding volunteers and North Korean comrades rushed to help him when they saw him so brave.
This group of people risked their lives to rush for more than two hours, fortunately, they finally transferred all 325 barrels of gasoline in the next four compartments to a safe area, and Liu Zuokun alone rescued 85 barrels afterwards!
After doing all this, Liu Zuokun's tense nerves finally relaxed, and the exhaustion made him faint directly, and the people around him rushed him to the nearby field hospital.
The next day, the Korean People's Army specially sent officers to the hospital to offer condolences and thanks to Liu Zuokun, and later repeatedly asked people to understand the events at that time, and compiled it into the "Annals of Commemoration of the Model Heroes of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea."
In recognition of Liu Zuokun's contribution to the US aid to Korea, the Political Department of the Logistics Department of the Volunteer Army recorded him as a first-class meritorious service, and both the Volunteer Army and the Workers' Party of Korea awarded him the honorary title of "First Class Meritorious Service".
In May 1956, Liu Zuokun returned to China with the troops, and soon after chose to be demobilized and returned home, the superior leaders repeatedly retained him to assign him a job, but Liu Zuokun believed that he still had the ability to act and work, and should leave the post to the comrades who needed it more.
Back in Xianning's hometown Liu Zuokun still does farm work and carpentry every day, never mentioning his own meritorious deeds, but some villagers are curious, he said that he is also the brave deeds of the volunteer army, when asked about himself, he only said: I just help carry things and stand guard.
What to do before departure, what to do after returning, to make great achievements but never to show pride, rather to be obscure, this is the noble sentiment of serving the country!

It wasn't until 2000, 44 years after he returned to China, that he wanted to show his exploits for something.
In this year, Liu Zuokun's eldest grandson Liu Junhua had grown up and wanted to join the army and serve the country, but due to the limited number of local conscripts, Liu Junhua was not selected.
If it was something else, Liu Zuokun would certainly not use the military merits of that year to help, but Sun Tzu wanted to inherit his cause and dedicate himself to the country, which was different.
Liu Zuokun, a 73-year-old man, found his volunteer army's first-class meritorious service certificate and second-class soldier's honorary certificate, as well as a "Model Commemorative History of Heroes in the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea", and traveled more than 30 kilometers to the Xianning Civil Affairs Bureau to double support the office.
After seeing what he brought, all the staff of the Double Support Office showed shock and admiration on their faces, and after learning of the wishes of this meritorious old man, they made layers of reports, and finally alarmed the chief and specially approved Liu Junhua to join the army.
At the same time, Liu Zuokun's deeds have also been publicized and have received widespread attention from everyone, and the local government and the Civil Affairs Bureau have repeatedly visited his home to care for and comfort. Some acquaintances also asked him, why didn't you take your military merit badge to live a good life in the first place?
Liu Zuokun saw these very clearly, and he said bluntly: Compared with those comrades who sacrificed, I am already lucky enough, and making a meritorious contribution is not a big deal. This ideological enlightenment is admirable!
In 2003, Liu Zuokun died of illness at the age of 76.
From Liu Zuokun, we can see the spirit of all the volunteers in that year, and it is precisely because of this spirit of "dedication to the country first, regardless of personal interests" that we can defeat the powerful United States and gradually develop until it takes off.
The efforts of these heroes, we should not forget! They are the backbone of the country!
