During the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period, there were people in the court who inscribed a couplet on the peach symbol. The "Song Shi Shu Shijia" says: Later Shu lord Meng Chang ling scholar Xin Yinxun inscribed a peach plank, with his non-work, self-styled inscription Cloud: "New Year Na Yu Qing, Jia Jie Number Changchun", this is China's first pair of Spring League.

Until the Song Dynasty, Chunlian was still called "Peach Rune". Wang Anshi's "Yuan Day" poem Yun: Thousands of households pupil day, always replace the new peach with the old charm. In the Song Dynasty, the peach symbol was changed from a peach wood board to paper, called "spring sticker" and "spring union". This custom began in the Song Dynasty, began to prevail in the Ming Dynasty, and in the Qing Dynasty, it became an irreplaceable and genuine custom.

Couplets are called "Yang Lian", commonly known as "pairs". It is concise and profound, neat and tidy, and coordinated, and is a unique art form with one word and one sound.

The posting of the Spring League should conform to the tradition and conform to the rules, and the Spring League should be vertically pasted. The upper link should be pasted on the right hand side, the lower link should be pasted on the left hand side, and the horizontal batch should also be read from right to left. The upper and lower links cannot be reversed. Generally speaking, the upper link is the slang sound, while the lower link is the flat sound.
