In the Qing Dynasty, if you want to become the empress dowager, either the empress of the first emperor or the birth mother of the new emperor, however, the Qing Dynasty has an empress dowager, she is neither the empress of the first emperor, nor the birth mother of the new emperor, but she was eventually honored as the empress dowager, and also obtained the title of empress, becoming the most special empress of the Qing Dynasty, she is Empress Xiaojingcheng.

Empress Xiao jingcheng's surname is Borjigit, and from the perspective of ethnic composition, there is no doubt that she belongs to the Mongolian ethnic group, but the ancestors of Empress Xiaojingcheng were incorporated into the Manchurian Zhenglan Banner in the early Qing Dynasty, so Empress Xiaojingcheng belonged to the Eight Banners of Manchuria. Although Empress Xiaojingcheng's family was not prominent in the first and middle periods of the Qing Dynasty, this woman's origin is not insignificant, she is from the Yuan Zhaozong, and her distant ancestor is the famous Dayan Khan of the Ming Dynasty.
In the fifth year of Daoguang in the Qing Dynasty, the 13-year-old Borjigit clan (Empress Xiaojingcheng) participated in the first draft of the Daoguang Dynasty as the manchurian blue flag woman, and she was young and beautiful and was favored by Daoguang and given the title of Jing Guiren. At that time, borjigit was still just an ignorant maiden, and the Daoguang Emperor was already a middle-aged man in his forties, but this was a very common phenomenon in ancient times, let alone in the emperor's harem.
At that time, Daoguang had two more favored concubines, one was Quan Guifei and the other was Xiang Concubine, and these two became competitors in the early years of Daoguang. Unexpectedly, however, borzigit, who had recently entered the palace, would soon join the battle. In the second year of the Borjigit clan's entry into the palace, she conceived a dragon fetus for Daoguang and gave birth to the second son of the emperor Yigang in the sixth year of Daoguang, which made the Daoguang Emperor ecstatic and immediately promoted the position of the Borjigit clan, from Jinggui to Jing Concubine.
What is even more unexpected is that Borzigit is a fertile physique, and in the following five years, she became pregnant with dragon fetus four times and gave birth to three children, including a small birth in Daoguang's eight years. Especially in the twelfth year of Daoguang, the Borjigit clan gave birth to a very handsome prince, that is, the sixth son of the emperor, Yi?.
Successive births caused the young Borjigit clan to rise in the harem, successively promoted to Jing Concubine and Jing Guifei, and after Xiaoquan entered the middle palace, the Borjigit clan became the second lord of the harem.
Twenty years after Daoguang, Empress Xiaoquan suddenly collapsed in the Yuanmingyuan, when the fourth son of the Emperor, Yixuan, was only ten years old, so Daoguang handed Yixuan over to the Jing Emperor's noble concubine Borjigit to raise, which became the key to the ultimate glory of the Borjigit clan.
After Daoguang's death, the fourth son of Emperor Yixuan, the adopted son of the Borzigit clan, succeeded to the throne as Emperor Xianfeng. After Xianfeng succeeded to the throne, he honored the Borjigit clan as the noble concubine of the Kangci Emperor, and was honored with the courtesy of the empress dowager, so that she lived in the Shoukang Palace in Qichun Garden. However, borzigit always had a dream of queen in his heart, and this pursuit became more intense after entering old age.
In July of the fifth year of Xianfeng, Borjigit was seriously ill, and on his deathbed, Xianfeng finally fulfilled the wish of this adoptive mother, honoring her as Empress Kangci and posthumously giving her the title of Empress Xiaojing.
As a result, the Borjigit clan, which had been in the Qing Palace for 30 years, finally survived the title of empress. However, Xianfeng did not build a separate mausoleum for this adoptive mother, but buried her in the concubine garden bed, so that the Mu Ling Concubine Garden Bed was upgraded to the Empress Mausoleum, called Mu Dongling, in addition to Empress Xiaojing, Mu Dongling also buried 19 concubines of Daoguang.
