During the Qing Dynasty, if the prince born of an ordinary concubine inherited the throne, the concubine would be honored with her son, and she would be honored as the empress dowager, and the title of empress dowager would mean that she had obtained the title of empress. Sometimes, if the emperor's birth mother died early, the adoptive mother would also receive a certain honorific title, usually an imperial concubine, such as the Jiaqing Emperor's adoptive mother, Qinggong Emperor Guifei. However, there was an emperor's adoptive mother in the Qing Dynasty who was honored as the empress dowager and received the title of empress, and she was Empress Xiaojingcheng, the adoptive mother of the Xianfeng Emperor.
We can compare the origins of the four empresses of the Daoguang Emperor, Empress Xiaomucheng and Empress Xiaoshencheng are all from the Eight Banners family, one is the Fengchao Family with yellow flag button Hulu clan, one is the emperor's relatives with yellow flag Tong Jia, the third empress, Empress Xiaoquan, although the surname is Niu Hulu, but she is not from the yellow flag button Hulu clan, but the red flag, this branch is relatively ordinary too much.
The origin of Empress Xiaojing is not simple, her surname is Borjigit, she is a descendant of Emperor Zhaozong of Yuan, the grandson of the Wulut tribe Belle Ubansanoyin, and the granddaughter of the second-class son Zonom IX.
In the early years of the Qing Dynasty, Zonom entered the Manchurian Zhenglan Banner and became a Mongol distributed within the Eight Banners. From this point of view, Empress Xiaojing is very different from Empress Xiaoduanwen and Empress Xiaozhuangwen in the early years of the Qing Dynasty, Empress Xiaojing is already considered to be from the Eight Banners, while Empress Xiaoduanwen and Empress Xiaozhuangwen belong to the Mongolian foreign domain.
From this point of view, among the four empresses of Daoguang, the one with the worst birth was Daoguang's favorite Empress Xiaoquan.
Five years after Daoguang, the 14-year-old Empress Xiaojing of the Borjigit clan participated in the Eight Flags Draft as the daughter of the Zhenglan Banner, and she was favored by Daoguang at a glance, jumped into the court, and was awarded the title of Jing Nobleman. After three generations of emperors Tongzhi, Guangxu, and Xuantong, the final title of borjigit was Xiaojing Kangciyi Zhaoduan Huizhuangren and Shenbi Tianfu Shengcheng Empress. She was the only woman in the Qing Dynasty to be made empress by the emperor's adoptive mother.
