At the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty, the three kingdoms of Cao Wei, Shu Han and Eastern Wu were established, and Cao Cao, Liu Bei and Sun Quan also became the soul figures of that era. In addition, there is no shortage of brave and good warrior talents, among which the "Five Tiger Generals" in Liu Bei's camp have the highest attention.

Allegiance to Cao Wei
During the Three Kingdoms period, there was no shortage of wonderful duels between the two sides on the battlefield, especially in the former Three Kingdoms period, and the wonderful stories could not be read. In the post-Three Kingdoms period, there were also many heroic generals, but the momentum was not so strong, which was also related to the situation of the "Three Kingdoms Standing".
Wen Duan was one of the famous generals of the late Three Kingdoms period, and his father was Cao Wei Yangzhou Assassin Shi Wenqin. Their family was attached to Cao Shuang and loyal to the Cao Wei royal family. The emperor at that time was Cao Fang, who is said to be Cao Cao's great-grandson in history.
Cao Cao was a tyrant, but his grandson did not inherit his strength and bravery. When Cao Fang first ascended the throne, the general Cao Shuang and the lieutenant Sima Yi jointly assisted the regime. At the same time, it also means that many of the great powers of the dynasty are in the hands of these two people.
The so-called "one mountain does not allow two tigers", Cao Shuang and Sima Yi have always been in a state of open competition and secret struggle. Later, Sima Yi launched a coup d'état in Gaopingling, executing Cao Shuang for treason, and Wen Qin felt that he had lost his patron.
At this time, there was always a pair of eyes in the imperial court staring at Wen Qin's every move, and that person was Sima Shi. And Wen Qin did not have any good feelings for Sima Shi. Later, Wen Qin simply took his son Wen Duan to garrison Yangzhou, away from those dynastic and political struggles.
In 254, Sima Shi deposed Cao Fang on the grounds that she ignored the government and indulged in wine all day. This treason completely angered Wen Qin. So he joined forces with Qiu Jian and others to pretend to be the empress dowager's edict and listed 11 counts of Sima Shi to carry out a crusade against him.
Who would have thought that Sima Shi seemed to have received intelligence in advance and came to Lejia City to garrison in advance. This startled Wen Qin, and at this time Wen Duan stood up and advised: "Before the enemy can gain a firm foothold, immediately send troops to beat him unprepared." ”
Wen Qin listened to his son's words and felt that it was very reasonable, so he and Wen Duanbing decided to attack Sima Shi at night.
Shocked sima shi to death
When the night came, the lights in Sima Shi's tent were bright, but they did not feel the danger coming. Before Wen Duan led his army to Sima Shi's camp, he did not rush to attack, but hovered at the door and shouted Sima Shi's name.
This shout caused a lot of shock in the camp. They all knew that Wen Duan was brave and good at war, and naturally did not dare to act rashly. But the enemy was shouting at the door of the house, how could Sima Shi bear it? So he was furious and was going out to fight.
However, he was stopped by the people around him, because not long ago, Sima Shi had just cut the sarcoma in the corner of his eye, and he was still cultivating, and even the doctor advised him not to make a big fuss.
But Sima Shi did not listen, picked up the spear and was about to rush out, at this time a stinging pain came from the corner of his eye, and the wounded eyeballs popped out of the mouth of the eyeball sores, and suddenly blood flowed all over the ground, which immediately made Sima Shi's pain unbearable.
Wen Duan shouted at the door all night and did not see Sima Shi come out to fight, so he returned to the camp at dawn. After he went back, the more he thought about it, the more he felt that he must frustrate Sima Shi's vigor. So he took more than ten cavalry to sima shi's camp again.
This time, he stepped on his horse and rushed directly into Sima Shi's camp with a spear in his hand, killed a circle, and then led the troops away. Such a provocation made Sima Shi furious and immediately sent Sima Ban to lead 8,000 soldiers and horses to the battle.
Wen Duan then single-handedly rushed into the ranks of thousands of people, and as soon as the spear was extended and shrunk, he killed hundreds of people in the blink of an eye, and then retreated again. This went back and forth six or seven times, beating Sima Shi's men to pieces. This bravery is not inferior to Guan Yu and Lü Bu in "Romance of the Three Kingdoms".
Later, Sima Shi died after returning to the army. Wen Duan also followed his father to the State of Wu. In 257, Wen Qin's father and son went to Shouchun to support Zhuge Zhi in his crusade against Sima Zhao.
However, in the course of action, because Zhuge Shi and Wen Qin had always been at odds, contradictions arose. So Zhuge Zhi beheaded Wen Qin, and Wen Duan and his younger brother Wen Hu, who were stationed in the city, heard the news of their father's death and defected to Sima Zhao in a fit of anger.
Victimized by adulterers
In 265, Sima Yan deposed Emperor Yuan of Wei and established the Western Jin Dynasty, marking the end of the Three Kingdoms era. Sima Yan was the eldest son of Sima Zhao and the founding emperor of the Jin Dynasty. After he ascended the throne, He was appointed as the Protector of Pingyu.
In 270, the leader of the Xianbei tribe, Bald Shuji, raised an army in Hexi to rebel and killed many feudal generals of the Jin Dynasty.
At this time, Wen Duan was ordered to gather the military forces of the three states to quell the rebellion, and he defeated the bald tree function all the way, so that 200,000 people of the Xianbei tribe returned to the Jin Dynasty, and this battle made Wen Duan declare a big reputation and shock the world.
After Banshi returned to the dynasty, the emperor appointed him as the Taiwei of Dongyi. However, when Wen Duan was about to take up his post, Sima Yan felt that he had done a great job and shocked the lord, so he casually found a reason to dismiss him from office.
Later, after Sima Yan's death, his son Sima Zheng succeeded to the throne, and the power in the court was in the hands of The Taifu Yang Jun. However, this made Empress Jia Nanfeng look very unhappy, so she launched a coup d'état, killed Yang Jun and his henchmen, and regained power.
Originally, this matter had nothing to do with Wen Duan, after all, he had already been dismissed from office. But Sima Xuan inserted a foot in it. He took advantage of Yang Jun's incident, and blamed Wen Duan for his involvement, which later led to the tragic annihilation of the three clans of Wen Duan's family.
Sima Xuan's move of "borrowing a knife to kill people" can be described as extremely fierce, so why should he harm Wen Duan? Judging from Sima Xuan's identity, we can find clues.
This Sima Xuan was Zhuge Zhao's grandson, and when Shouchun rebelled against Sima Zhao, because Wen Qin was killed by Zhuge Zhao, Wen Duan defected to Sima Zhao. This walk directly led to the defeat and killing of Zhuge Shi's soldiers, so Sima Xuan counted his grandfather's death on Wen Duan's head.
Wen Duan was only 54 years old at the time of his murder, and there are very few records of him in history. His wonderful deeds of "shocking Sima Shi" are not mentioned in the Book of Jin. As a result, he has been ignored by history. However, after understanding his heroic deeds, I found that his bravery was actually comparable to that of the "Five Tiger Generals".
A sentence once said by Zhou Yu in the "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" is like a portrayal of Wen Duan's life, that is, "The husband has made meritorious deeds in the world; the meritorious names have comforted his life." "His whole life has been from this battlefield to that battlefield, assisting many county kings and establishing outstanding merits."
Although he was dismissed from office after his twilight years, he knew that "accompanying the king is like accompanying the tiger", so he retired with the trend. The fame established when he was young made him proud of his life, but he was unexpectedly killed by adulterers and ended his life in a hurry.
But even if history ignores and forgets him, his light will radiate through time and space.
