November 10, 2021, is an unforgettable day for me. On this day, I officially completed the "change of the main practice institution" - from the Hantang Traditional Chinese Medicine Outpatient Department in Haikou City to the modern medical outpatient department located in Meilan District, Haikou.

My name is Chen Qinghua, and I am the first "folk Chinese medicine" in Meilan District to handle the "change of the main practice institution", and I am also one of the oldest "old" Chinese medicine doctors in Haikou. You see, the yellowed TCM books and handwritten prescriptions on the table have witnessed my growth from a teacher, editor, and writer to a legal practitioner of TCM, and have witnessed the pragmatic move of the Hainan Provincial Health Commission to open up the "last mile".

This year, the sense of gain is full. I clearly remember that after obtaining the qualification of physicians through the standardized assessment, in view of the problem that "folk Chinese medicine" could not register the information of medical institutions in the national TCM specialty physician management system, the Provincial Health and Health Commission "hand in hand" guided the "folk TCM" to prepare registration materials, coordinate the manual entry of management personnel, and effectively do a good job in the practice registration of TCM (specialty) physicians. On July 26, including me, the first batch of 56 folk Chinese medicine practitioners in Hainan successfully obtained the practice certificate of traditional Chinese medicine (specialty) physicians and officially joined the medical team in Hainan. From then on, it is possible to practice legally, supplement the strength of traditional Chinese medicine talents in our province, and use the method of "simplicity, convenience, inspection, and honesty" to solve the health problems of the grass-roots masses; from then on, you can justifiably exert your technical expertise, legally accept apprentices, and pass on the classic formulas and characteristic therapies.

This year, through continuous clinical practice, I became a professional in the field of traditional Chinese medicine, and more and more patients came to me for consultation, and I felt the change of "visible and tangible". Not only do they have a sense of gain, but the masses also have a sense of gain when they seek medical treatment.

In addition to sitting in the clinic, I also wrote a total of nearly one million words of papers, clinical evidence treatment, and clinical testimony experience. These are the process of further study and thinking, but also the process of further improvement, some of the places where the understanding is not deep and half-understood, through writing and thinking, these problems are sorted out and understood, so that they have a more solid foundation and a deeper understanding.

When it came time to visit the clinic, looking at the crowd of people sitting outside the clinic waiting for me to "look and hear", and watching the smiles on the faces of patients when they left the outpatient department, the rewards I received also transformed into a real sense of gain. As long as you are down-to-earth, dedicated and willing, tomorrow will be better!
