General Zhang Aiping, a native of Daxian County, Sichuan Province, participated in revolutionary activities as early as middle school, later joined our party, engaged in underground work, was arrested twice by foreign patrols and kuomintang, in prison he fought unyieldingly, joined the Red Army in 1929, and began to command military battles.
During the Red Army period and the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, General Zhang Aiping made great achievements, especially during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, when the New Fourth Army suffered the "Anhui South Incident", Zhang Aiping was appointed as the brigade commander of the 9th Brigade of the 3rd Division of the New Fourth Army, and later as the deputy commander of the 3rd Division.
Later, he also served as the commander of the Yanfu Military Subdistrict, commanding the army and the people to crush the great "sweep" of more than 20,000 Japanese troops, in 1944, the commander of the 4th Division, Peng Xuefeng, unfortunately died, and Zhang Aiping was appointed as the commander of the 4th Division, and at the same time served as the commander of the Huaibei Military Region, leading the troops to resist the war in Jinpu Road and south of Xuzhou.
Zhang Aiping made great contributions to the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression in the final stage of the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japan, and as soon as the civil war broke out after the war, he immediately threw himself into the War of Liberation, and initially he served as the deputy commander of the Central China Military Region, commanding two columns in a unified manner, and rushing to the front line of the Jinpu Railway to block the Kuomintang troops.
At that time, Zhang Aiping planned to march with the troops, the political commissar suggested taking a big car, so that it was faster, Zhang Aiping followed the advice of the political commissar, the clinker halfway car travel failure, and after repairing it, it caught up with the light rain, the road was muddy and slippery, but it was slow.
When the car drove to the territory of Suining County, the car was affected by the flow of people and moved slowly, General Zhang Aiping probed out to observe the situation, and then instructed that they could stop first to buy some food.
When the two comrades went down, they pedaled back, but the car did not stop and slid, and General Zhang Aiping, who was outside the probe, was squeezed into the wall by the car, and when the car retreated, his head left the wall, only to find that it had been bleeding, and the entourage panicked.
The political commissar asked to report to General Manager Chen, but Zhang Aiping said that the battle was about to start, and the change of positions would affect the morale of the troops, so he commanded the battle with wounds and won a complete victory, and after the battle, he agreed to report the injuries to General Manager Chen, and General Manager Chen immediately instructed him to stop working and rest.
In this way, Zhang Aiping bid farewell to the battlefield, he went to the Soviet Union for treatment, and did not recover until the end of 1948, after the Battle of the Crossing River, he was ordered to form the People's Liberation Army Navy, and later served as the commander and political commissar of the East China Navy, although he was absent from the Liberation War, he was awarded the rank of general in 1955 for his outstanding military achievements.
