Originally used in Western countries, fireplaces have decorative effects and considerable practical value, because of the cold, in northern Europe, the popularity is extremely high. According to the culture of different countries, it is divided into: Finnish style, Russian style, American fireplace, English fireplace, French fireplace, Spanish style, etc., so the shape is different. The basic structure of the fireplace includes: mantelpiece and fireplace core, flue.
The mantelpiece plays a decorative role. The wick serves a practical role, and the flue is used for exhaust. Flue designs are common in Western countries. Therefore, Western countries also generally use real fire fireplaces. Shanghai's old bungalows, most of the old buildings were built around the 1930s, but also deeply influenced by the architectural styles of European and American countries, and most of the foreigners lived at that time, so many old bungalows have real fireplaces, non-decorative functions.
The fireplace is art, culture, and visible warmth. The fireplace is a representative symbol of humanistic temperament. If architecture is alive, then fireplaces can bring the whole space to life. In all kinds of Haipai architecture, the fireplace is the center of gravity of the interior space, and its shape is diverse, usually baroque, Georgian, neoclassical, Victorian, Art Nouveau, Art Deco, modern architectural movement and other styles. (1) Baroque style fireplace
Most of the Haipai Baroque fireplace forms have cornices or cornices, which are very grand. The frieze above the fireplace serves as an integral part of the chimney and is often framed by carvings or mountain flowers. There are also some with relatively simple stone classical decoration, including pilasters, cornices and cornices, and even plain marble panels and spiral patterns and spanning cornices. The metal back is also decorated with a wooden shelf or made in the classical colonnade style or decorated at the top.

(2) Georgian fireplace
The simpler style of a Haipai Georgian fireplace is a flat wooden frame with an outer frame, or two columns and beams with serial numbers perpendicular to each other, and the mantelpiece is constructed of stone or wood, enriched by circular reliefs and decorations of traditional patterns. Some of them are exquisite style stone fireplaces, enriched with different marble inlays, expressing neoclassical decorations such as the Greek Revival style.

(3) Neoclassical style fireplace
The Haipai neoclassical style fireplace has a distinctly classical revival feature, using the Ionic column or tower dry column type, the Greek cloud scroll pattern, expressed in white, black or gray stone, and the same detailed shape is used on the wooden mantelpiece. Some of the fireplace frames are decorated with teeth and paneled with stitched feet to fully reflect the neoclassical pattern.

(4) Victorian fireplace
The Frame of the Victorian Fireplace of Haipai is mostly made of stone and wood, and there are various forms, including the Revival style of Empress Anne and the archetype style of Elizabeth, and even a very simple marble fireplace form, with only flat tile panels, and the stone frame is a simplified Taskan pilaster, the overall simple atmosphere.
(5) Art Nouveau style fireplace
Some of the Haipai Art Nouveau style fireplaces use the form of built-in furniture, the overall is relatively simple and bright, the design emphasizes the art nouveau details, there are directly pasted colored mosaics around the stove frame, and some use clear water bricks or use a combination of rustic bricks and stone beams, which is unique. Of course, there are also more complex styles, pre-made Art Nouveau styles with copper plates or cast iron, and more engravings in the outer frame.

(6) Art Deco style fireplace
The Haipai Art Deco style fireplace is very distinctive, the design is simplified to a clear geometric shape, the outer frame is made of marble or light-colored tile finishes, the geometric lines are hard and bright, the fireplace is almost reduced to a simple rectangular opening, and the surrounding circle becomes like a sculpture. The stove bed is just a simple thick plate made of smooth stone. All fireplace furniture is made of steel and chrome plated in an elegant and simple style.

(7) Modern architectural movement style fireplace
The Haipai modern architectural movement style fireplace has been greatly simplified, and the common form is a stone fireplace that is flush with the wall. The outer frame decoration is extremely simple, some directly surrounded by small tiles, with tiles in the center, and the stove bed is placed on the ground with a certain height of wall recesses.
