NVIDIA CFO: Chip supply will improve in the second half of 2022

Webmaster's House (ChinaZ.com) Jan. 14 news: According to Windows Central, buying high-end graphics cards from NVIDIA has been difficult due to the ongoing global chip shortage, but the company's chief financial officer said that this could change by the second half of 2022. Nvidia's chief financial officer, Colette Kress, discussed the company's ability to meet the needs of graphics cards and other components at the 24th Needham Growth Conference.

"Looking back at 2021, we see strong demand for GeForce graphics cards, and Nvidia's graphics cards continue to be in short supply. The availability of NVIDIA products will improve in the second half of 2022." Nvidia did not elaborate on what changes will occur in the second half of the year to improve graphics card supply, nor did it disclose information about the next generation of GeForce graphics cards. At present, only the code name of the RTX40 series graphics card is "Ada Lovelace".

Nvidia is trying to mitigate the impact of chip shortages on graphics cards by reducing the hash rate of the RTX3080, 3070, and 3060Ti when used for cryptocurrency mining. The company also launched a CMP card specifically designed for cryptocurrency mining. These initiatives are designed to allow graphics cards made for the game to go into the hands of gamers rather than miners.
