On the occasion of the Spring Festival in 2022, Shanghai Library has launched a special activity for the public beta of the East Library - "Happy Listening and Enjoying". The launch ceremony of "Music Listening and Reading Enjoyment" was selected in the Red Hall on the B1 floor of the East Building, a 218-seat space specially designed for elegant artistic performance and appreciation, with a lowering board design, which provides the possibility of immersive music performance. The stepped seats are surrounded on three sides, the stage is sunken, and the wood-colored grille arranged in the strips of the wall also renders a soft and warm atmosphere with the lighting. According to the staff in the picture above, the "Happy Listening, Reading and Enjoying" public test activity was held in this red hall and a number of guided rooms on the 2nd floor of the East Hall.

What is "Enjoy Listening"? This is a new concept based on big reading, jointly planned by Shanghai Library and Dianyi Audio-Visual Promotion Agency, to create a new integration model of "one song, one set of audio, one book" to provide readers with immersive music reading theme activities. The surging news reporter learned that after the launching ceremony, Shanghai Library and Dianyi Audio and Video will hold 40-50 (sets) of the world's high-end audio equipment display every year in the East Library of Shanghai Library, and the brand HIFI audio equipment "the first release of the picture above", and plan and organize music reading experience activities such as "Professional Audience Appreciation Meeting" and "Public Reader Guide Party".

The shanghai library has a total of about 210,000 old records, ranging from wax cylinders at the end of the 19th century to vinyl in the 1990s, which is second to none in the domestic library industry in terms of variety and quantity. The "Library Collection Record Knowledge Base" brings together the catalogued Chinese and foreign language record catalogs and digitally processed record resources in the above figure, as well as the existing achievements of digital humanities construction, and reveals the record resources of the collection in the above picture from multiple dimensions such as people, institutions, themes, and time, so as to support users to consult, explore and appreciate excellent tracks and understand the knowledge behind the records.

It is reported that the first exhibition plan here after the opening of the museum is to take the Austrian composer and the founder of the Viennese classical music school Joseph Haydn as the theme, around his life experience, artistic creation and other aspects of the exhibition of various documents and audio-visual materials.
"Previously, although the Shanghai Library (Huaihai Road Pavilion) had a music score reading room and a trial reading room where readers could order it themselves, we still could not keep up with the needs of the majority of readers in the music collection service, so we hoped that the East Library could give full play to the advantages of the collection resources in the above picture."
