At the beginning of the new year, Jiulongpo District has added a good place for citizens to read - Vientiane Book House, providing 24-hour "non-closing" reading services for more than 1,000 employees of surrounding enterprises and institutions, more than 10,000 residents and tourists, where citizens can read books and periodicals for free, borrow and return books for free, and apply for free district library reader cards.

Vientiane Bookstore is jointly built by the Jiulongpo District Cultural and Tourism Committee, Xiejiawan Street Office, Chongqing Aluminum Industry Development and Investment Group Co., Ltd. and Chongqing MixC in a cooperative and co-construction model.

Located on the LG floor of the south district of MixC, the book house is the tenth 24-hour wisdom library in Jiulongpo District, and the first 24-hour wisdom library in Jiulongpo with the function of borrowing and returning books from public libraries in Chengdu and Chongqing.

The whole bookstore is decorated in a modern style, composed of floor-to-ceiling insulated and translucent glass and steel columns, with all-aluminum furniture, a construction area of about 120 square meters, divided into three functional rooms of borrowing area, reading area and theater area, which can accommodate 50 people at the same time.

The bookstore currently has a collection of more than 3,500 books, and the wall bookcase near the gate is a literature area, and there are children's reading areas, red classics areas, comprehensive book areas, and professional book areas such as economy, law, history, and medicine.

It is understood that in addition to the comfortable environment, vientiane book house is also very intelligent. All lamps, air conditioners and other equipment in the bookstore are operated through intelligent control, and the data such as the number of readers in the library, the number of borrowed and returned, the amount of books collected, and the popular borrowing rankings can be monitored in real time and presented on the big data platform.

The bookstore is also equipped with a self-service machine for borrowing and returning books, which is the latest dual-band system and has the reader authentication function of the social security card (electronic social security card) of the public library in Chengdu and Chongqing. Readers in Chengdu and Chongqing can easily and quickly complete operations such as borrowing, returning books, and renewing loans according to the operation reminders of self-service machines.

According to the relevant person in charge of the Jiulongpo District Library, in vientiane Book House, the public can borrow 4 books for free each time with their own reader card, and the book borrowing period is 30 days, which can be renewed once. The renewal period is calculated from the date of renewal, and the overdue documents cannot be renewed. Before the expiry of the book loan, the public can apply for renewal procedures through the WeChat public account of the district library "Shuxiang Kowloon" or the self-service borrowing and returning machine of Vientiane Bookstore.
