History | appreciate the journey of the ancient Chinese people to the sea of stars from cultural relics

Presented to the reader is a new work reading ancient history from the cultural relics of the pre-Qin, Qin and Han dynasties.

Compared with other reading materials that introduce cultural relics, this book mainly captures the category with words among the vast number of cultural relics. Because cultural relics in this regard, compared with those without words, can often carry more historical information and facilitate the exploration of deeper historical topics. Avoid a brief introduction to cultural relics in the form of a guided word, but put them in the large framework of historical documents, and interpret them little by little, what this cultural relics are about, what is its relationship with the history recorded by the documents, and how it repairs the historical information recorded by the documents.

The written cultural relics of the pre-Qin and Qin dynasties mainly include oracle bones, bronzes, Jian Mu, Shu Shu, Han portrait stones and pottery, jade, gold and silver ware. Among them, the most characteristic of the times are the oracle bones and bronzes of the Shang Zhou, the Jian Mu and Shu shu of the Warring States of the Qin and Han Dynasties, and the Bricks and Stones of Han Portraits. The cultural relics selected in "Early China in Physiogematics" are mainly from these five categories.

The oracle bones mainly include writing on turtle shells and ox bones, mainly found in the ruins of yin ruins in the late Shang Dynasty and the ruins of Zhou Yuan in the late Shang Dynasty and early Zhou Dynasty, and are occasionally found in the princely states of Western Zhou. Excavations of oracle bones from the Yin Ruins began in 1928, and excavations of oracle bones from the Zhouyuan site began in 1977. Among them, the discovery of the Yin Ruins Oracle bone is one of the most important archaeological discoveries in modern ancient documents, which directly proves the reliability of the Shang Dynasty in the literature, greatly advances the era of Chinese history, and also introduces many Yin Shang histories that are not recorded in the documents. The strength of the Shang Zhou oracle bone's confirmation of the history of the Shang Zhou is self-evident.

Bronze inscriptions are mainly found in the Spring and Autumn Period of the Shang Zhou Dynasty, and the bronzes of the Shang Dynasty are mainly clan emblems; the Western Zhou is the heyday of the inscription, and the Mao Gongding inscriptions of the Western Zhou Are close to 500 words; the Warring States bronzes are mainly inscriptions; after the Qin and Han Dynasties, the bronzes gradually faded out of life, and the inscriptions were even fewer. Scattered Shang and Zhou bronzes have been unearthed throughout the ages, and since the Song Dynasty to the present day, there are many books introducing newly produced bronze inscriptions. In the scientific archaeology of Shang and Zhou tombs, many bronzes with inscriptions have also been excavated, mainly concentrated in the capitals of the Shang, Zhou and Zhou dynasties. Among them, the most magnificent is also the Western Zhou bronzes excavated in the Zhouyuan area.

The Jian Mu script mainly includes writing on bamboo and wood, mainly seen in the Warring States and Qin and Han Dynasties, the Spring and Autumn Period and before it has decayed, and then gradually replaced with the promotion of papermaking. Jian Mu wrote the most words, which is also the focus of the introduction of this book. After the founding of New China, archaeology has found a lot of Jian Mu, the more important ones are Guodian Chujian excavated from Jingmen, Hubei, Qinjian excavated from Yunmeng, Hubei, and Yinqueshan Hanjian excavated from Linyi, Shandong. In the new century, there are many excavations of Jian Mu, the more important ones are the Shanghai Museum Tibetan Warring States Bamboo Jane, Tsinghua University Tibetan Warring States Bamboo Jane, Jiangxi Nanchang excavated the Tomb of the Marquis of Haixia Han Jian and so on.

There are only two batches of books, the first is a volume of Chu Shu books and a number of fragments excavated in the Changsha Bullet Depot in 1943, and the second batch is a batch of Books excavated in 1973 at the Mawangdui Han Tomb in Changsha. Among them, the Mawangdui Book is the most valuable, with more than 120,000 words in 30 kinds of documents, including extremely valuable historical documents such as Lao Tzu, Zhou Yi, and Warring States Zhonghengjia Book. In addition, there are some painting materials that are not covered by this book.

Han portrait bricks and Han portrait stones are mainly found in the Han Dynasty, especially from the late Western Han Dynasty to the Eastern Han Dynasty, and the portrait stones found so far are mainly concentrated in the border areas of Shandong, Northern Jiangsu and Anhui, Shanxi and Shaanxi, Henan and Sichuan. Although the research value of pre-Qin history is not high, it records many pre-Qin historical events, and some can reflect the changes and development of such events in the legends of the Han Dynasty.

It is worth noting that written information first reflects the subjective consciousness of the writer, and does not necessarily represent objective and comprehensive historical facts. When the oracle bones and jinwen reflect the history of the Shang Zhou, the credibility of the oracle bones and gold texts is self-evident, but there are also cases of "reporting good news but not bad news". As for the Jian Mu and The Book of Shu, when it comes to the events of their previous history, the credibility is actually indistinguishable from the contemporary documents. Taking some records of the Jian shu literature and rashly threatening to subvert history is a very arbitrary act.

In fact, more often, the Jianbao literature provides only another way of saying, and its greatest value lies in deepening our understanding of this history, not in subverting this history. At the same time, the shape and meaning of many words in the Jian Shu literature, related research has just begun, many of which are controversial, and the interpretation of a certain scholar is directly used as a conclusion, and the reliability is of course discounted. There is a saying that "archaeologists want to tremble when archaeologists make a move", which is actually too much to lift archaeology.

In addition, in some surrounding areas of China, the script appeared later, such as the Sichuan region was only incorporated into the Qin state during the Warring States period, and the Yunnan region was only incorporated into China during the Qin and Han dynasties, after which the script was promoted. But before that, they also had their own glorious ancient history, which is also worth our understanding. Therefore, the last two articles of this book try to introduce the history of the ancient Shu kingdom and the ancient Dian kingdom through wordless bronzes.

The author Lin Wu Gongzi once launched an audio lesson "Pre-Qin Code in Cultural Relics: Learning History Like a Detective" on the "Fine Carving Class" platform This book continues the speculative method introduced in the audio class, which can be regarded as an expanded version, but there is a great improvement in content. On the one hand, the length has been expanded to 34 speaking more than 200,000 words, making the content more abundant; on the other hand, the logic of the text is also more rigorous than the language, which is convenient for more in-depth discussion with everyone.

Of course, in fact, there are many pre-Qin, Qin and Han cultural relics, whether with or without writing, there are places worth introducing. However, this book is limited in space, and the author has to endure the pain of cutting love, temporarily introducing these 34 more representative cultural relics.

Some of the contents of this book have been published in newspapers and the Internet, and when writing this book, the old texts have been revised and supplemented to represent the latest views of the author. Many of lin wu gongzi's views have been controversial on the Internet, but these views are by no means the author's deliberate sensationalism, but in fact, they are all incisive words issued by previous generations of scholars. It's more about just selecting, integrating, and elaborating. In this book, the reference points are listed one by one in the form of footnotes, and the references are listed uniformly after the whole book, and the reader can consult themselves.

The whole book uses in-depth and easy-to-understand words to popularize interesting and informative historical knowledge to the public, aiming at popularizing the cold knowledge of history that the average person does not know and subverting the historical knowledge that the average person knows.
