In this process, if the female mantis is hungry, she may turn her head and grab the male mantis and eat it, usually eating the head first, while the male mantis that has entered the state is caught, even if the head is broken, the body will still control it to continue mating.
The central nervous system of the praying mantis is spread throughout the body, and even if the head is cut off, the convulsions of the abdominal ganglia will make the desire to mate more intensely, accelerating the flow of semen into the female mantis for fertilization.
There are also unlucky male praying mantises who encounter a hungry female mantis, and there is no sign that they will be caught and eaten, and they do not even have a chance to love once.
Female praying mantises generally lay their eggs in September and die shortly after laying their eggs, eating the other half only to better reproduce the next generation.
Praying mantises can generally lay 1-4 egg sheaths, each completed egg sheath takes 2-4 hours, and the eggs in one egg sheath range from 40-300. The egg sheath protects the egg cells through the cold winter, and from the beginning of June to the beginning of July of the following year, the overwintering eggs begin to hatch, so there is a saying that "midsummer praying mantises are born".
3. A fly that lays eggs for life at one time
Flies have the physiological characteristics of laying eggs for life at one time, after the flies have crossed the tail, the semen of the male flies can be stored in the fertilization sacs of the female flies for a long time, stimulating egg laying, and lasting 2 to 3 weeks, so that the eggs are continuously fertilized.
Such characteristics make it unnecessary for a female to have a tail with another male after mating once, and most flies only have to intercourse once in their lives.
The tailing time of the flies is up to 1 hour, and a pair of tailing houseflies can be motionless in one place, or they can crawl together or even fly together.
The flies are super fertile, a female fly can lay eggs 5 times in a lifetime, each spawning about 100 to 300 eggs, and can reproduce 10 to 12 generations in a year.
When flies eat, they need to spit out the sac fluid to dissolve the food, and their habit is to eat, vomit, and pull at the same time.
4, love is dead to learn
Whenever you sing loudly in the trees, it means that summer has arrived. And all that can bark are male cicadas, and female cicadas can't bark.
The male cicada does not come from the mouth, it has a special eardrum in its abdomen, which can make a sharp and loud sound when vibrating, and the main purpose of the call is to attract the female cicada, but this "call", it itself can not hear.
The chirping of the male cicada successfully attracts the female cicada over, and then it is an important tailing link, the male cicada will open the tail to produce hormones when the tail is crossed, the female cicada will also secrete liquid after being stimulated, the male cicada first absorbs the liquid of the female cicada into his own body, after forming a fertilized egg in the body, and then discharged back to the female cicada, so as to complete the tail.
The whole mating process takes 1 to 4 hours, and the male will slowly die after mating. After the female cicada completes fertilization, she will use the egg layer to make holes in the branches for the placement of cicada eggs, and each female cicada can lay 200 to 800 eggs in her lifetime.
Most of the cicada's life is spent underground, and different cicadas have to go through 3 years, 5 years, 13 years, or even 17 years underground, and after excavation and feathering, they only live for a few weeks.
The male dies after mating, and the female dies after laying eggs.
5, for the love of the "twilight of life" ephemera
The life of an adult ephemera is very short, with a lifespan of only a few hours (the longest is only a few days), and "twilight death" refers to it.
Ephemeral larvae (juvenile insects) live in freshwater lakes or streams, after a few months to 1 year or more, molting 10--50 times, will become sub-adults, sub-adults molt once more as adults.
After the ephemera become adults, the upper and lower jaws degenerate and disappear, lose the ability to chew and eat, do not eat or drink, and rely on burning the energy stored in the larval stage. The only purpose of the adult ephemera is to reproduce, and it is only responsible for mating during its short life.
It can be said that the only purpose of the life of adult ephemera is to have intercourse with the opposite sex and reproduce. When they cross tail, they will all fly into the air, in groups, and many will cover the sky, which is the "wedding flight" of ephemera.
Flocks of ephemera crashed in the sky, and the males chased the females around, not missing any possible opportunity to cross the tail, in the air, on the water, on the plants, as long as there was a chance.
In order to improve efficiency, both males and females have 2 sets of that.
Each female mates an average of more than 20 males, and after mating, the females lay eggs in the water and die in groups with the males.
6. Eat the "husband's" spider
Most spiders mate their tails, and the male spiders line up the sperm on the web and absorb them into the second pair of whiskers, because the male spiders don't have that.
After the male spider matures, he begins to look for the female spider, many of which hang up on the road, and after finding it, he begins to be careful to court. Some have courtship movements during mating, such as tarantulas and jumping spiders that wave their whiskers to attract female spiders. The male of the spider sacrifices the fly wrapped in silk to the female, and the female coytails when she feeds.
Male spiders insert their left whisker limbs into the left opening of the female spider's reproductive plate during mating, and insert their right limbs into the right foramen. After the sperm enters the reproductive plate, it moves into the fertilized sac that communicates with the fallopian tubes, and the eggs are fertilized through the fallopian tubes to the reproductive foramen.
Female spiders can mate with mostly male spiders, and some male spiders will cut off their whiskers and limbs after sperm injections in order to ensure their genes, blocking the reproductive holes.
