As everyone expected, there was indeed an ancient tomb here. It is also an ancient tomb where two people are buried together.
Many people gathered next to the ancient tomb and took out their mobile phones to take pictures, and soon the incident spread out. As a result, Zhao Wenxi, the 30th generation descendant of Zhao Kuangyin, took the thousand-year-old family tree to prevent experts from continuing the excavation of the ancient tomb project. Zhao Wenxi said that he knew early on that there were ancestral tombs here, but he had not found the exact location, thinking that the ancestors' records were wrong. He also died in 1216, and his wife Li Shi died in 1195 and was buried here by Zhao Bopeng the following year. And after his return to heaven for several years, let the descendants bury themselves and their wives together. And because his wife's coffin was on top of Zhao Bopeng's coffin. And the coffin of his wife Li Shi had been patronized by tomb robbers in the early years. Yes, the coffin is not perfectly preserved. When archaeologists excavated the tomb, they suspected that some corpses and bones were also found, speculating that this may be Li's skeleton.
Although Zhao Bopeng's coffin has been buried deep underground for more than 800 years, the Southern Song Dynasty people have done a particularly good job of embalming the coffin, so the coffin can still be seen to be well-made. And there is no gap between the coffin lid and the coffin, which shows that the inside of the coffin is absolutely hidden surprises. However, the difficulty of excavating the coffin is also extremely high, due to the rainy here in Gangnam. Experts speculate that the coffin may have already seeped water. If you open the coffin in the ancient tomb, there is a high probability of accidents, so it is decided to drill a few small holes in the coffin, flow all the water out, and then carry the coffin to the county town to open. What the experts did not expect was that a few simple small holes in the electric drill actually put the groundwater in the coffin for nearly a day, until two or three o'clock in the morning, and finally put the water out. At the same time as the water was released, the hearts of the experts were also cold, worried that the cultural relics in the ancient tombs might have been damaged.
Experts also took a lot of effort to open the coffin. After that, the coffin was ventilated all night to ensure that the poison gas and mercury inside the coffin had all been discharged. Finally wait until the morning of May 6th. The team of archaeologists can finally get up close and personal with the coffin. Inside the coffin were placed three beds and four quilts. Below it was the body of the master, who was also dressed in luxurious costumes. It can be seen that Zhao Bopeng's status is noble, and the family has surplus property. There are also many precious funerary objects in the coffin, such as jade pendants, bronze mirrors and so on. One of the most expensive cultural relics is The Jade Bi, a relic of the founding emperor of the Southern Tang Dynasty in 940 AD. Unexpectedly, he was obtained by Zhao Bopeng and buried in his ancient tomb after his death.
All the artifacts unearthed in this tomb are very valuable to the local museum. But for Zhao Kuangyin's descendant Zhao Wenxi, it may be a less satisfactory thing. Originally, Zhao Wenxi came with a family tree to prevent the expert team from excavating the tomb of the ancestors, but was unexpectedly dissuaded by the other party, and now all the excavated cultural relics belong to the local museum. Therefore, many people are dissatisfied with Zhao Wenxi's family, after all, this is the ancient tomb of the ancestors of the people, and the family trees are recorded in detail, and these properties are left to the descendants of the Zhao family.
