In May of the thirteenth year of Hongwu (1380), the chancellor Hu Weiyong reported to Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang after an early dynasty: "A spring of water appeared in the home of the subject, specially made wine, and invited His Majesty to go to the next day to enjoy and taste it." Zhu Yuanzhang was very interested, agreed to this request, and the next day he rode the carriage excitedly, planning to go to Hu Weiyong's residence for a drink.
So did Hu Weiyong really sincerely invite Zhu Yuanzhang to enjoy the spring? Of course, the answer was no, he had already ambushed the sword and axe man in the palace, and he waited for Zhu Yuanzhang to come, and then raised an incident to rebel.
At this time, Yun Qi was an envoy guarding the palace gate, he knew that Hu Weiyong did not have good intentions, and learned that Tianzi had left the Donghua Gate, and hurriedly chased after him and stopped Zhu Yuanzhang's frame.
In the past, the courtiers secretly intercepted Tianzi Luan's driving, but it was a great disrespect, Zhu Yuanzhang saw his panicked look and hurriedly asked what was going on, but Yun Qi had already lost his breath, but he still grabbed Zhu Yuanzhang's car rut deadly and refused to give up. This made Zhu Yuanzhang very angry, thinking that his eyes had no king's law, and let the left and right beat him with golden melons.
Soon Yun Qi was seriously injured and his hand was broken, but he still pointed his finger in the direction of Hu Weiyong's home. This also made Zhu Yuanzhang, who had just left the house, feel that something was wrong, he did not continue to go, but went back to the house, waiting for Zhu Yuanzhang to climb the city tower to take a look, and sure enough, he found that Hu Weiyong's family was ambushed with dense killers, and was waiting in a strict position, Zhu Yuanzhang was shocked and angry, and immediately ordered the copy of the prime minister's house and beheaded Hu Weiyong.
After this incident, Zhu Yunzhang did not forget the merits of Yun Qi's death, and posthumously gave him the title of Zuo Shaojian, and during the Jiajing Emperor, he even remembered his loyalty and courage, and was crowned as a eunuch.

However, although there is historical evidence, but the authenticity of this story is quite doubtful, the Hu Weiyong case was the number one case of the Ming Dynasty, and the number of people implicated was as high as tens of thousands, Hu Weiyong was indeed killed by Zhu Yuanzhang in 1380, but before that, the contradiction between Hu Weiyong and Zhu Yuanzhang was getting deeper and deeper, Zhu Yuanzhang was a very suspicious emperor, how could he accept Hu Weiyong's invitation and run to his home to see the spring water under such a tense situation?
