He was the ninth grandson of Zhao Kuangyin's son Zhao Dezhao, and as many people know, after Zhao Kuangyin's death, his younger brother Zhao Guangyi ascended the throne, and since then, the emperors of the Great Song Dynasty have been descendants of Zhao Guangyi.
This is basically the same as Zhao Kuangyin's later generations, which are basically exiled to the people, no different from the people. Let's just say Zhao Yun, his father has long since lost any knighthood, and only served as a local petty official in Shanyin County.
However, after the southern Song Dynasty began, everything changed. Zhao Zhuo had no sons and had to choose one of the side branches, so he chose Zhao Xuan, who was no one else, but the seventh descendant of Song Taizu and a descendant of Zhao Defang.
But this still has nothing to do with him, because if he falls upwards, Zhao Dezhao is just a brother with Zhao Defang. But history is like that, it's wonderful.
After several experiences, the Emperor of the Southern Song Dynasty once again had the problem of cutting off his heirs. Song Ningzong actually had sons, and had nine sons in succession, but none of them survived, so he had to choose one from other relatives.
However, Zhao Yun was not the best candidate, and had already selected two candidates at first, but for various reasons he either died or was deposed. Because Shi Miyuan was in monopoly at that time, he chose Zhao Yun, and in this way, with the help of the powerful minister Shi Miyuan, he became the emperor, that is, Song Lizong.
Song Lizong has been emperor for a very long time, and it cannot be said that he is a good emperor, but it is not far behind. Basically, it belongs to the kind of people who make certain changes in the early stages, but faint and incompetent in the late stages.
So where did he start his grief? In fact, this is what happened after his death.
When Song Lizong was 60 years old, he died and was buried in the Yongmu Tomb after his death, and it is said that he was buried in the ground, but for many people, the imperial tomb is too tempting.
In the process of the Yuan Dynasty's great march southward, a monk from Western Xia, Yang Lian Zhenjia, stole the tomb of Emperor Lizong of Song, drove it and burned it, made the skull into a wine vessel, and set it with pearls and jade gold and silver, and offered it to the rulers of the Yuan Dynasty.
It was not until after the fall of the Yuan Dynasty that Zhu Yuanzhang was found in the imperial palace of the Yuan capital. Subsequently, Zhu Yuanzhang buried him in Ying tianfu with imperial rites. Zhao Yun's skull was also buried at the old site of the Yongmu Mausoleum in Shaoxing.
