The bookstore is on Yangfuyin Road in Heping District, from which the name of the store is derived. This 110-meter-long path was born in 1918, don't look at it as narrow and short, it was originally Tianjin's "financial street", full of silver trumpets. Today's Yangfuyin Road is "crowded" in the middle of two rows of old buildings, and Fuyin Bookstore is in one of the rows of old buildings.

The owner of the bookstore is named Liu Yi, who is as kind and enthusiastic as the big brother next door. A second-year college student majoring in finance, also navigating to the bookstore, asked the People's Publishing House for a book republished in 2019, Liu Yi asked her to leave the title and phone number, and promised to notify her to pick it up when she found the book... Rustic, meticulous and warm, it is the impression that Fuyin leaves on everyone.
Liu Yi laughed and said that he was not a reader, and running a bookstore was really because the factory's efficiency was not good. From the stall to the "famous" bookstore today, Liu Yi has insisted on it for more than 20 years and has always benefited from the help of all parties. The location of the bookstore is the property of an old state-owned enterprise in Tianjin, where house prices have soared for 20 years, but the rent of the small bookstore has not risen much, and it is still 1,000 yuan a month. This greatly reduced the cost of small bookstores, and in the case of the rapid development of electronic books and the sharp reduction of the traditional book market, small bookstores survived the cold winter of paper reading and persevered.
In 2017, Tianjin launched a national reading activity, and Liu Yi received two special support funds for bookstores issued by Tianjin, totaling more than 90,000 yuan. Liu Yi used this money to renovate the small bookstore, add audio, green plants, and carry out a series of activities to serve readers.
In 2019, Fuyin Bookstore was rated as a special bookstore in Tianjin, and in 2020 and 2021, it was rated as the most beautiful bookstore. These evaluations, the prize money is limited, but the continuous publicity and support of the Propaganda Department of the Tianjin Municipal Party Committee allow readers to refocus their attention on the physical bookstore, Fuyin Bookstore is famous, and readers have found books according to Tu Suoji. Liu Yi made another bold decision: no one sold books. Customers find their own books, scan their own codes to pay, if they do not find the right book, leave a note stating the title and contact information...
Liu Yi pointed to the note plastered on the wall and said: "It is hard to imagine that the self-service book sales model has been carried out for more than a year, the bookstore has not lost a single book, the book has been sold, and I have also received praise and encouragement from readers on the wall." Liu Yi wanted to make the Fuyin Bookstore into a small hut lit with orange lights in the downtown area, giving people who were in a hurry a sense of tranquility and warmth. Then, with the help of the Tianjin Heping District Cultural and Tourism Bureau and the Rong Media Center, Liu Yi planned to open another bookstore in the nearby Wuda Avenue Historical and Cultural Block, so that more tourists and readers could feel the simplicity, meticulousness and warmth of Tianjin people and Tianjin Bookstore.
