After graduating from high school in 1979, we took the exam and were all admitted to the first batch of top 30 places in the county, and she was assigned to the grassroots bank and I went to the island to tax. Many years later, she came to Yantai City to work, and I, a countryman who wandered around Shanghai Island in the county, did not like to go to gao climb into the "big city", so I almost lost contact.
I remember that in 2009, when our high school thirty-year graduation class reunion, our classmate Ma Yuqiang was specially responsible for contacting her, and she was unable to attend the teacher-student gathering with nearly 100 people due to her busy work. I informed Professor Sun of Ma Suping's communication method, so that they could get in touch, thus facilitating Professor Sun's meeting with her old father more than 40 years later. Later, Professor Sun and Director Zhu, who had a deep affection for their second hometown and military career, naturally became the core roles and hardcore fans of Ma Suping's column.
Through this incident, it also opened up a real practical connection between me and Ma Suping. I remember once she entertained Fa Xiao and his former colleagues from Daqin Island, and I was also invited to attend, which was the first time we met nearly forty years after graduation. By the way, I brought a small gift for her old father to pass on to her, in order to show my respect for this amiable and respectable former county leader.
Her old father died last year, and according to the rules of the island, relatives, friends, and colleagues were all present. Since I did not get the news at the first time, I could only find the original colleague to understand the situation, and sent WeChat afterwards to express my condolences and comfort to the old classmates.
Second, literary dreams have achieved good results
On June 18, 2019, she sent a WeChat message: "You forward this to your circle of friends, this is the first article on my column in the Qilu Evening News One Point - "Island Dream", and I will continue to publish articles on islands and military brigades in this column in the future." Since then, important articles in her column will also be shared with me, although I have downloaded the One Point App and also followed the "Island Dream" column.
After Ma Suping opened a column, I was shocked that her writing became more and more beautiful, her stories became more and more moving, and I felt incredible and empathetic to her strong island love and military travel. When I was in school, I knew she was good at Chinese, but I didn't expect that decades later she would be able to stir up such a big wave in the industry and local literary circles.
I read the article "Island Dream" recommended by Professor Sun and her other reminiscence articles - "Passenger Ship Enters the Island", "Carpenter Enters the Island", "Arbor Day" remembers the story of planting trees on the island in those years, "Unforgettable 1977 College Entrance Examination Essay", "Island Old House Has Mother's "Baby"" and so on, for her amazing memory and delicate expression, and praised and sincerely admired.

And all this comes from her feelings when she was born on the island and grew up in the military camp, and from her heartfelt love for her first hometown and the second hometown in the mouth of her father. I fully believe and understand this, for a second generation of the military like her, whether her parents are from a northeastern city or a famous city in Jiangnan, she will not forget her identity as an islander because she has lived in the city for a long time. When she was a child, a playmate in the compound, a neighbor's nostalgia, an uncle's friendship, and the army loves the people and the people support the army, just like the sea is deeper than the stream, the blood is thicker than the water, and it has long been deeply rooted in her heart.
