Original title: Wuhan to Tianmen Expressway bid Opening Wuhan city circle has added an important fast track

(Reporter Dai Hui, intern Luo Zihe) learned from the Provincial Department of Transportation on January 11 that the Wuhan-Tianmen Expressway Urban Circle Expressway to Suiyue Expressway section of the project was completed. According to the news from the winning bidder Hubei Jiaotong Investment Group, it is planned to start construction in the second half of this year, with a construction period of 3 years and completion at the end of the "14th Five-Year Plan" period. This means that Tianmen, as the only city in the Wuhan urban circle that does not have high-speed direct access, is about to enter the "1-hour economic circle" of Wuhan.
The Wuhan-Tianmen Expressway Urban Circle Expressway to Suiyue Expressway, with an investment of about 8.5 billion yuan, is an integral part of the Wuhan-Tianmen Expressway, with a total length of about 37.7 kilometers, starting from the Wuhan City Circle Ring Expressway and passing through Tianerhe Town, Tianmen City, Mawan Town, Henglin Town, Xiaoban Town, Yuekou Town, and ending at Suiyue Expressway.
The Wuhan-Tianmen Expressway is about 91 kilometers long and is built in sections, and the whole line is planned to be built according to the standard of a two-way six-lane expressway with a design speed of 120 kilometers per hour, with a roadbed width of 34 meters. Among them, the Wuhan to Hanchuan section starts from the north side of Yangxin Village, Yuxian Street, Caidian District, Wuhan City, and ends at the intersection of the Wuhan City Circle Ring Road. The investment in this section is about 15.4 billion yuan, with a total length of about 54 kilometers, of which about 10 kilometers are in Wuhan. At the end of last year, the project laid its first test pile in Wuhan and is scheduled to start construction within this year.
It is understood that Tianmen City, which ranks in the first echelon of Hubei County's economy and has a large population, is the only city in the Wuhan Urban Circle that has no high-speed direct access to Wuhan. From Wuhan, although there are two expressways in Suiyue and Wujing that can reach Tianmen, they cannot directly reach the urban area. From the Wujing Expressway Tianmen North Exit to the city, it takes a 30-minute drive. Although the Suiyue Expressway is on the edge of Tianmen City, it is a north-south highway.
It is reported that the Wuhan-Yichang Expressway via Tianmen is a key project of the "13th Five-Year Plan for Comprehensive Transportation in Hubei Province", a ray of the "Six Rings and Twenty-Four Shots" of the "Wuhan Urban Master Plan (2017-2035)", and is also an integral part of the planned Wuhan-Chongqing Expressway, which has been incorporated into the national highway network. After the completion of the Wutian Expressway, the time from Wuhan to Tianmen was shortened to 1 hour. At the same time, this high-speed extension to Yichang in the long run, forming the Wuhan to Yichang Expressway passage via Tianmen, will form a new east-west fast lane between Shanghai-Rong and Shanghai-Chongqing Expressway, effectively diverting the external traffic volume and long-distance transit traffic in the areas along the route, and alleviating the traffic pressure of the Shanghai-Rong and Shanghai-Chongqing Expressways.
