In a hut that was almost filled with books, the reporter met Tang Ping, 77.

Military literary and artistic all-rounder
Tang Ping, formerly known as Zhang Shengli, was born in 1943 in the Jin-Hebei Luyu Border Region, her parents were military cadres who participated in the revolution in the early days of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, and her uncle was also an old Red Army. Tang Ping always thought that it was only a matter of time before he joined the army and joined the army from a background like him, but he did not expect that by chance, he actually stepped into the "literary and art circle" first.
In 1949, Tang Ping attended Huiwen Primary School in Beijing. There, he met his lifelong mentor, mr. Sun Jingxiu, a famous child educator. Sun Jingxiu has long studied children's psychology and children's language, and has told stories to children for decades on the Central People's Radio. "In my generation, there are people who have never heard of Elder Sun's name, and there are people who have never heard him tell stories!" Tang Ping said with a smile.

Sun Jingxiu carefully taught Tang Ping the skills of painting, calligraphy, recitation, and performance, who embarked on the path of literature and art under the influence of his mentor and persisted for a lifetime.
In 1962, Tang Ping joined the army. He was assigned to the Qingdao Naval Second Aviation School and worked with bombers and torpedoes all day. With the quality of hard-working, Tang Ping became a technician in only two years, and the epaulettes became a bar and a star. But at this moment, the organization talked to him and wanted to transfer him to the East China Sea Fleet Cultural and Labor Corps. After a big circle, Tang Ping finally returned to her old business - to promote literature and art!
Troops are a melting pot. When she was a soldier, in order to implement the instructions of her superiors to "publicize not to stay overnight", Tang Ping taught herself the skills of playing allegro, saying crosstalk, counting nobles, etc., and became a veritable literary and artistic all-rounder.

After years of experience, Tang Ping has developed a special skill. But anything made of words, even a leader's work or an editorial, he could pick up a bamboo board and sing it to the heart.
Two days ago, the person in charge of the street called and asked Tang Ping to write an allegro to encourage residents in the jurisdiction to actively vaccinate against the new crown. Originally a tricky job, I didn't expect Tang Ping to hand in the manuscript the next day.
"This is all thanks to the experience of the troops," Tang Ping said.
Campus culture sows people
Songyuli Kindergarten in Chaoyang District, Beijing, which is only a ten-minute drive from Tangping's home, is a model kindergarten in the city. In the first half of last year, the leaders of the kindergarten came to visit and wanted to hire Tang Ping as the "cultural and artistic consultant" of the kindergarten.
Tang Ping, who is the chairman of the Panjiayuan Street Literary Association, is the artistic director of 15 amateur clubs in the district, and she is very busy with rehearsal programs and cross-talk for that family on weekdays. The family advised Tang Ping, "Almost 80 people, too busy to eat." But Tang Ping did not think so, "I can ignore the adult's affairs, and I must not push the matter of the flowers of the motherland." On Monday, he appeared in the Songyuli Kindergarten Lecture Hall.

In order to close the distance with the children, Tang Ping moved a small stool to sit next to them. He read his carefully composed 6 songs to the children, who knew that the children's attention was elsewhere, and they could not concentrate at all. Tang Ping was not in a hurry, and took out his own beef bone plate (a kind of allegro, made of beef bone) and fought. Sing while playing, "Run, jump, I use fitness for the Winter Olympics"...
Sure enough, the children became interested in the cow bone plate and began to recite nursery rhymes to the rhythm of Tang Ping. Childish voices echoed over the classroom. Tang Ping, the "old child", once again captured the hearts of the children.

In the nearly 40 years of teacher-student interaction, teacher Sun Jingxiu's thoughts and emotions of "loving children" and the spirit of burning his own red candle have always influenced Tang Ping. For more than 20 years, from the Songyuli Kindergarten near home, the Affiliated Middle School of Beijing University of Technology, to the alma mater Beijing No. 25 Middle School, to the Jiuxianqiao Primary School far from home, and the Yutian Normal High School in Tangshan, Hebei Province, Tangping has left the figure of Tangping teaching.
Tang Ping, who has never been a formal teacher for a day, used the three-foot podium to paint a colorful performance teaching, so that the flowers of the motherland knew what the "red boat spirit" and "Olympic spirit" were from an early age, and let the seeds of loving the party and the country and the army take root in their hearts.
The original intention of educating people with beauty will not change

At present, national defense education for young people is in full swing, and many retired soldiers have entered the campus to help carry out military training and summer camps. But there are still a few people like Tang Ping who educate people through literary and artistic creation.
"On a sunny day, I took my granddaughter to see the red boat. Happiness does not forget the source of water, a monument cast in the heart. "This is the song "Grandpa Takes Me to See the Red Boat" composed for the centenary of the founding of the Party;

After more than 20 years of work in the army propaganda team and the cultural and labor corps, Tang Ping did not participate in more military training than ordinary soldiers, and his physical fitness was not as good as theirs, but he had his profession and his expertise.

Soldiers are a huge group. Among them, there are soldiers carrying guns to defend the motherland, scientists who are immersed in tackling key scientific research projects in the Military Research Institute (Institute), white-clad angels who save lives and help the injured, and of course, there are also multi-talented "literary and artistic light cavalry" such as Tang Ping. After retiring, they scattered the stars and continued to shine in all walks of life.
"No matter which path you choose, soldiers just have to persevere and dedicate." What can be done is not important, what is important is to always maintain the quality and original intention of the soldier. Literature and art is Tang Ping's lifelong pursuit and love, and being a soldier is his eternal identity. When the two are perfectly combined in Tang Ping's creation, her works have the power to reach the hearts of the people.
The 77-year-old Tang Ping rarely emphasizes his status as a retired soldier in front of her children, but the feelings of home and country are transmitted to the future of the motherland through one text after another. As the faculty members who are familiar with Tang Ping often suddenly realize when they learn that he has completed a very challenging task, "No wonder Tang Ping is very responsible for everything he does, after all, he is a former soldier!"
