He was originally the last ruler: because of his place of origin, he was set as a leader by Cixi, and vowed never to eat The Republic of China meal

For more than 1,300 years, the imperial examination system has played a pivotal role in China, and many people say that today's college entrance examination is the ancient imperial examination, in a sense it is. The end of the last examination in 1905 marked the complete end of the imperial examination, and also marked the 1904 Temple Examination Champion List Eye Tanhua became the last Yuanlist Eye Tanhua in Chinese history.

Today's protagonist is one of the 273 candidates who took the temple examination, in the eyes of the chief examiner, he was the champion of that year's palace examination, but because of his name and place of origin, Cixi set him as the eye of the list, his name is Zhu Ruzhen, and today he will approach Zhu Ruzhen with the history of leisure:

He was originally the last ruler: because of his place of origin, he was set as a leader by Cixi, and vowed never to eat The Republic of China meal

In 1870, Zhu Ruzhen was born in Qingyuan, Guangdong Province, the family was miserable, his father died when he was very young, but when he was a child, Zhu Ruzhen was talented and studious, it can be said that reading changed his life, and then he was funded by his wealthy in-laws to study and go to the examination. Zhu Ruzhen also lived up to expectations, in 1897, he won the first place in the Bagong Examination, and then won the eleventh place in the Beijing Huikao Examination; in 1903, he was selected in the township examination; in 1904, the Jinshidian Examination was hand-picked and the first with the second place in the first division!

Zhu Ruzhen's temple examination experience is legendary. According to the custom, after reading and evaluating the examination papers of all the candidates, the chief examiner of Jiachen (1904) Enke selected 10 examination papers from the 273 candidates who participated in the palace examination, ranked them well, and presented them to Empress Dowager Cixi as "King Ding" ~ ~ ~ "First Name" is Zhu Ruzhen's examination paper.

After Empress Dowager Cixi opened the examination paper, she saw that Zhu Ruzhen's font was a thick handwriting, and she shook her head continuously, because Empress Dowager Cixi preferred a sparse and fresh font; seeing his Guangdong origin, Cixi was even more disgusted, and Sun Yat-sen, who held high the banner of the anti-Qing Dynasty, and Hong Xiuquan, the leader of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, were born here, and Guangdong at that time was undoubtedly a thorn in Cixi's eye; love house and Wu, and the house of disgust was naturally the same as Wu, Zhu Ruzhen's name was not in line with her heart, cixi thought of the zhen concubine who was forced to die by him and supported the Guangxu Emperor's change of law...

He was originally the last ruler: because of his place of origin, he was set as a leader by Cixi, and vowed never to eat The Republic of China meal

On the other hand, the second Liu Chunlin, Empress Dowager Cixi believed that this name had an auspicious omen, the word "Chunlin" implied spring wind and rain, Ganlin Pu descended, that year coincided with a great drought, eagerly awaited a spring rain - just like this coincidence, kind subjective idealism, Liu Chunlin from the original second place to the first name, Zhu Ruzhen had to succumb to the top!

Even so, Zhu Ruzhen was still a superior, and in 1906, he was sent to Study Law at Hosei University in Tokyo, Japan, and after returning to China, in order to draft the "Commercial Law", he was sent to commercial ports across China to investigate modern business practices, submitting hundreds of thousands of words of investigation reports. In 1910, the Qing Dynasty held the first judge recruitment examination, and he was assigned to Guizhou as the chief examiner.

After the Xinhai Revolution, Zhu Ruzhen stayed in Puyi's small imperial court for 13 years as a "south study walk", and later returned to the south, he himself was good at poetry, calligraphy, and changdai people wrote signboards, banners, middle halls, etc., and the price of the gift was quite high, and the signature of his works never wrote the word "Republic of China", because he once said to people:"

Never eat Republican meals.

He was originally the last ruler: because of his place of origin, he was set as a leader by Cixi, and vowed never to eat The Republic of China meal

But he was always a Chinese, in the 21st year of the Republic of China, under the control of the Japanese Kwantung Army, the pseudo-"Manchukuo" was established, the deposed Qing Dynasty's last emperor Puyi was put on the stage, Zhu once went to Changchun to "see" (he was Puyi's teacher), Puyi signaled him to do the "imperial dynasty" again, he used old age and illness as an excuse, politely declined, and immediately returned to Hong Kong. During the Anti-Japanese War, Zhu Ruzhen actively cooperated with the anti-Japanese groups to carry out activities such as anti-Japanese fundraising and charity performances, and received assistance to anti-Japanese fighters.

Hong Kong fell in 1941. He organized a return guidance committee with Huang Wengen, a fellow villager in Hong Kong, and others to assist more than 30,000 people in the township to evacuate and return home. During this time, the Japanese sent him rice and tried to use him, but he resolutely resisted.

In 1942, Zhu Ruzhen took refuge in Beijing and died of illness at the age of 72 – how do you evaluate his life!?
