In 1211 (the third year of Da'an), Genghis Khan led an army to attack Jin, kejie at Wild Fox Ridge (eighteen kilometers north of Datong City), and besieged the capital of Jinxi, and the defenders of Xijing abandoned the city.
In 1212 (the first year of Chongqing), Genghis Khan, the ancestor of the Yuan Dynasty, besieged Jinxijing, and withdrew from the siege.

In 1264 (to the first year of the Yuan Dynasty), Datong County School was founded on the site of Datong Fu Zhidong, that is, the Northern Wei Zhongshu Xue, the Liaoxi Jingguo Zijian, and the Jin Tai School. Quanzhen Daoqiu destroyed the Confucius Temple and occupied the Buddhist temple. Datong Li Puguang's "Snow AnThology" was published.
From 1271 to 1368 (Yuan Dynasty), the annual coal class was 125 ingots (each ingot, silver 52), accounting for 5% of the coal class. The Guandi Temple was built in the city.
In 1277 (to the fourteenth year of the Yuan), the Italian traveler Marco Polo was ordered by Kublai Khan to send an envoy to the Nanyang countries, passing through Datong City. Zanda Tong is a magnificent and beautiful city. The cathedral was built in the same year.
In 1278 (to the fifteenth year of the Yuan Dynasty), a serious famine occurred on the Xijing (Datong) Road, and the Yuan court issued 10,000 stones of millet to help the people.
In 1285 (to the 22nd year of the Yuan Dynasty), Xijing "gathered 40,000 monks from all roads at the Pu'en Monastery in Xijing for seven days and nights" (Yuan Shi).
In 1288 (to the 25th year of the Yuan Dynasty), Xijing Road was changed to Datong Road, with 45,945 households and 128496 people.
In 1305 (the ninth year of Daedeok), a strong earthquake occurred on Datong Road, with the sound of the ground, destroying more than 5,800 houses and killing more than 1,400 people.
1306 (10th year of Daedeok) Storms destroyed the people's huts. The next day, the wind and sand, the horses and cattle died, and there were also dead people.

In October 1358 (to the eighteenth year of Zheng), Liu Futong led a peasant rebel army to conquer Datong City, and the Yuan general abandoned the city.
In 1365 (to the twenty-fifth year of the reign), the Yuan general Tamerlane general Guan Baowei Ke Datong. The weasel produced by the same name "once offered jade food, and placed it in the place of the official, and it was not allowed to take it arbitrarily."
