In 555 (the sixth year of Northern Qi Tianbao), 1.8 million people from Northern Qi built the Great Wall, from Xiakou in Youzhou to Hengzhou (Datong City) in the east, extending for 900 miles.
In 556 (the seventh year of Dabao), Taiping (present-day Datong District) was called Heng'an Town and was ruled by Hengzhou.
From 557 to 581 (Northern Zhou), Heng'an Town (Datong District) was changed to Yunzhong County (Datong was originally called Yunzhong).
In 581 (the first year of Emperor Wen of Sui's reign), Yunzhong County in Northern Zhou was renamed Yunnei County.
In 623 (the sixth year of Tang Wude), Northern Hengzhou (present-day Datong City) was established, and it was abolished the following year.
In 628 (the second year of Zhenguan), a great Mosque (west of the Ninth Floor Lane) was built in the city.
In 640 (the fourteenth year of Zhenguan), it was renamed Dingxiang County, which was also the rule of Yun Prefecture.
682 (the first year of Yongchun) Yunzhou was abolished.
In 713 (the first year of the new century), the Kaiyuan Temple (Shanhua Temple) was built as the Tang Dynasty National Temple.
In 742 (the first year of Tianbao), it was changed to Yunzhong Commandery.
In 755 (the fourteenth year of Tianbao), Tang recovered Guo Ziyi from the clouds.
In 758 (the first year of the Qianyuan Dynasty), it was restored to Yun prefecture.
In 878 (the fifth year of Qianfu), a mutiny occurred in Yunzhong, killing Duan Wenchu, the defensive envoy of the Datong army, and welcoming Li Keyong into the city, and the defenders of Yunzhou expelled Li Keyong.
In 881 (the first year of Zhonghe), the Datong Army Jiedushi was changed to the Yanmen Jiedushi, and the Zhi Dynasty, Yunzhou and Shuozhou belonged to it.
In 891 (the second year of Da Shun), Li Ke used the great defeat of Yunzhou to defend Helian Duo and enter Yunzhou.
From 901 to 904 (the first year of Tianfu to the fourth year), the Youzhou army plundered the city of Yunzhou.
From 907 to 960 (five generations), Datong City was still called Yunzhong County, which was the rule of the prefecture.
In 911 (the fifth year of Later Liang Kaiping), the Liao lord Yelü Abao led a cavalry of 70,000 hui Li Ke for Yunzhou, Yipao horse, about brothers.
