Song Zhiqing was on a par with Du Zhenyan, Shen Qi, Chen Ziang and others at that time, and was also called "Shen Song" together with Shen Qi. He was particularly good at five-character poetry, and the Old Book of Tang commented that he was "particularly good at five-word poetry, and there was no one who was out of his power at that time." When Liu Xiyi finished the poem "Generation of Sorrowful White Heads", he took the poem manuscript to the famous uncle Song Zhiwen for advice. Liu Xiyi's face was embarrassed, these two sentences were his proud works, and they were also repeatedly revised by him. Before Liu Xiyi used "this year's flowers bloom color change, next year's flowers bloom back to who is there", and then felt unlucky, like a proverb, only to change to "years and years of flowers are similar, years and years of people are different" instead.
But now that his uncle was asking for it in person, although Liu Xiyi was difficult to give up, he did not dare to resign.
However, Liu Xiyi regretted it afterwards. As soon as he regretted it, he was in front of his friends and bragged that it was his masterpiece.
After Song Zhiqing learned the news, anger rose from his heart, and evil was born to the side of the guts, "The anger of the question was suppressed and killed with the soil sac."
Of course, Song Zhiqing could not have done it himself, and he found a servant as powerful as an ox, sneaked into Liu Mansion on the night of a month of black wind and high wind, and crushed the sleeping Liu Xiyi with a heavy earth bag.
So, is this really true or false?
Indeed, although Song Zhiqing was highly accomplished in poetry, he had a huge contrast in character, and was a person who tended to be inflammatory, flattering, and clinging to the powerful.
During Wu Zetian's reign, in order to be able to please Wu Zetian and enter his shogunate, Song Zhiqing flattered Wu Zetian in every way. To this end, he also wrote a poem of "Ming River" to express his heart: "The Ming River is unsympathetic, and I wish to take advantage of the chalk to ask for help." Song Zhiqing swept the floor for his own merits, but he also betrayed his friends and sold his friends for glory.
After Zhang Yizhi's brother was deposed, Li Xian succeeded to the throne and wantonly deposed those around Wu Zetian. Song Zhiqing was not spared and was demoted to Taki prefecture to join the army. He sneaked back to Luoyang and hid in the home of his friend Zhang Zhongzhi to inquire about the imperial court.
It was also during this period that he overheard the secret of Zhang Zhongzhi's plot to assassinate wu Sansi, the prime minister of the dynasty. So he ran to inform, resulting in the tragic slaughter of Zhang Zhong's friends. However, Song Zhiqing was promoted to an official position and promoted to the rank of Lord of the Imperial Household, so "the world is ugly."
Then, he befriended Princess Taiping. However, because he found that Li Xian's sister Princess Anle was in power, her power overshadowed Princess Taiping, and she turned to Princess Anle and Wu Sansi. First of all, the relationship between Song Zhiqing and Liu Xiyi's uncle and nephew is questionable. The age difference between the two is not much, and the relationship between them is not clearly recorded in various canonical histories.
Secondly, Song Zhiqing was already famous all over the world when he was young. The Old Book of Tang states that "the weak crown is well known". He could not afford to risk his life for a bland verse, so that he "took the poem and killed people", which was really more than worth the loss for him, and the risk was huge.
Third, although Song Zhiwen wrote a large number of beautiful poems for Zhang Yizhi, his literary achievements were far above Liu Xiyi. There are only more than 20 poems by Liu Xiyi in the Quan Tang Poems, while song Zhiqing's poems are more than 180, and there is no shortage of excellent works. For example, "Crossing the Han River", which was selected for the middle school curriculum, is a famous masterpiece.
Therefore, regarding Song Zhiqing's killing of Liu Xiyi, it is very likely that someone was dissatisfied with his despicable character and poured dirty water on him, and then attributed Liu Xiyi's death to him.
