2021 "Self-Evidence of Literature in Tianya"

Young Writers Self-Nomination List IV

At the end of the year and the beginning of the year, various literary works lists have been released. Critics and readers judge from their own reading perspectives, and finally produce a list of literary works in the eyes of the "other". In this process, in addition to the work itself, the author's "self-identity" will be more or less absent, and there will often be errors in understanding or over-interpretation, and some works that the author does not care much about are focused, and the works that the author values are often ignored. Not only to correct deviations, but also to provide young authors with an online platform for self-interpretation, self-recommendation and even self-"justification" of their latest works, the public account of Tianya magazine has launched a special plan of "Self-Evidence of Literature: Self-Recommendation List of Young Writers" from now on.

This list is open to young authors and is developed in the form of self-recommendation, and the self-recommended content is the most valued works of individuals published and published in 2021, and the genre is not limited. With no rankings, no judges, no fixed quotas, this list is, in a sense, a fluid and endless list, all written by young writers. The author's self-introduction, from another side, provides literary researchers and readers with a perspective on the text, avoiding the real work of painstaking efforts from being overlooked. Due to the limited vision of the editorial department, the coverage of specially invited young writers is certainly incomplete, and will be widely invited later; young writers who intend to recommend themselves can also send us special mailboxes ([email protected]) in accordance with the corresponding format, and we will publish them one after another after compilation.

The list of posts is in no particular order, in the order of when the self-nomination was received. Push the fourth batch today.

Yang Qingxiang ,World Equals Zero》

Self-recommendation

2021 "Tianya Literature Self-Certification" | Young Writers Self-Recommendation List IV

Collected Poems | Shanghai Literature and Art Publishing House, September 2021

This book of poems is the epitome of my 2016-2019 poetry works. I see poetry writing as a direct expression of my personal heart and life, my back garden with "love and beauty" buildings. It's just that "love has become thin now / Because we no longer have the mind of stone and water", so purification and transformation are needed – the world is equal to zero, everything is zero, and everything starts from zero.

Hu Zhufeng's "Under the Pavilion of Xizi"

2021 "Tianya Literature Self-Certification" | Young Writers Self-Recommendation List IV

A collection of essays | Hunan Literature and Art Publishing House, November 2021

Under the Pavilion is a new collection of essays from me. There are small essays, there are big articles, they are followed by feelings, and they are local chronicles. This book takes the narrow sense of prose, that is, a certain length of narrative, description, lyricism and rhetoric. This takes reading as the scripture, takes traditional Chinese culture as the weft, and talks about literature and art. It is about the article, and it is also a person's mood.

In the book, there are works of food, or meat or vegetarian, from the sour, sweet, bitter, spicy and salty to the calm dyeing, tasting and expounding the meditation text of food culture. There are also rural folk homes, pear garden dramas, talking about the beauty of nearly twenty kinds of operas such as Huangmei opera, Zizi, Wuzi, Erjia string, flower drum drama, etc. The drama is used to describe the vivid picture of social culture and material life.

When writing, I hope to inherit the Chinese context, connect with the current life, and return to the beauty of the Chinese language.

The excellent tradition of Chinese literature is not a constraint on our creation today. Countless excellent works in history deserve our extensive reference in the current creation. I am a prose essay writer, and over the years, I have learned a lot from the pre-Qin Zhuzi to the Ming and Qing dynasties.

I have been thinking about how to innovate the tone and brushwork inherited from the classical tradition. How to write a vernacular essay that does not lose classical elegance? How to cultivate the literary mind and eyes of contemplating the times? How to use the pen in your hand to write the flowers of the new era? I am always trying to combine the style of the times with the permanent charm of China's excellent traditional culture. There are also several titles that the ancients used in the book, such as "Climbing the Building", "Huxin Pavilion to See the Snow", "The Story of the Bamboo Forest" and other articles, which are put into the truth and complexity of the moment; the title of the book is "Under the Pavilion of The Words", which is to connect the spirit of the ancients who cherish words like gold, and hope to get rid of Chen Yan and write their own literature.

William Wang, "Your Gaze"

2021 "Tianya Literature Self-Certification" | Young Writers Self-Recommendation List IV

Novella | October, No. 6, 2021

My novella, Your Gaze (October, No. 6, 2021), draws inspiration from Shenzhen's eyewear industry to focus on a profession that few people pay attention to: eyewear designers. This is certainly a metaphor, the intermediary between us and the world is nothing else, it is the gaze, and only by renewing our gaze can we see a more open and delicate world. The two protagonists in love in the novel are Hakka from Shenzhen and Yan from Guangzhou. The Hakka and the Yanjia are two very representative ethnic groups in the geographical space of the New South: the former is constantly migrating on the land, looking for a new home, and becoming a guest of eternal residence in the eyes of the world; the latter has been wandering on the water for generations, living and dying on the ship, and is regarded by the world as a monster like a worm ("疍" is "蜑", which means birds, turtles, snakes and other eggs with hard shells). The arduous survival history of the ancestors has brought real innovative inspiration to young eyewear designers, and with the formation and birth of new glasses, their vision of each other, the past, life and the future has changed fundamentally. They named the boutique glasses they had designed together "Shiju", and the design copy was like this four sentences:

Live down because the earth is stable

Stay down, even if the water is shaking

Live down, life travels through time by reproduction

Stay down and the space is open to all life

Li Chao, "The Light of the Commissary"

2021 "Tianya Literature Self-Certification" | Young Writers Self-Recommendation List IV

Short story | Writer, No. 3, 2021

"The Light of the Commissary" is one of the articles in the "Misty Water" series I wrote, with a commissary as the center of the radiation out of the state of life, passers-by's various stories, are performed on this stage, and the shopkeeper's participation seems to be out of witness, and the source of this person is hidden, which is the part of the novel that is not said. On the whole, the form of life revealed in the novel has a strong flavor of the late nineties, a slow life before the arrival of a fast era, and its agitation is always in the inner part of the characters, in a fermented way, so that it is written in a blur and floats with the blue light of burning paper.

Ding Dongya's "Half-Life Snow"

2021 "Tianya Literature Self-Certification" | Young Writers Self-Recommendation List IV

The short story | "Bell Mountain" No. 1, 2021

"Half-Life Snow" is a novel that I want to try to make a structural attempt, and it is also a personal tribute. The little sister next door who recurred during my depression was actually dead for many years. In the novel, she is no longer one person, but two "Shuna", two identities. One of the "they" is real in the life of "me", which leads to a love affair that "I" met in F City; the other is a re-incarnation of "I" experience of life. If the misplaced reality of this writing is to construct the barren city after the burning of love, then now I remember her on paper and forget it.

Zheng Xiaodonkey "Battlefield Bride"

2021 "Tianya Literature Self-Certification" | Young Writers Self-Recommendation List IV

The short story | People's Literature, No. 12, 2021

When I wrote "War Bride", the faces of some old friends kept popping up in front of my eyes. Ten years ago, when I was young, I was getting together with a group of young friends from all walks of life, playing basketball every day, drinking a lot of wine, and were some "three no youths" who had no house, no car, and no girlfriend. Long nights, no intention of sleeping. The way to pass the time is nothing more than drinking, watching ball games, and chatting about women. Such a group should have a big brother, yes, he is the prototype of the "Biao Brother" in the novel. He is our soul man, and every time he finishes playing, he waves his big hand and comes to eat at night. No one says good. There were beers, there were bacon and ducks, there were chairs and chopsticks, and soon a hundred family feasts were gathered in the cold rental house, steaming, not lively. For many years, most of the "three young people" of that year became families and ran their own things. Writing this novel is a remedy for the broken friendship and a remembrance of youth.

Wang Suxin, "The Past and Present Life of Ma Lingzhi"

2021 "Tianya Literature Self-Certification" | Young Writers Self-Recommendation List IV

The collection of novels | Translation Press, November 2021

This book was actually my first collection of novels, but it was published the latest. The earliest article in the book, "Oh Na", was written in 2009 and published in the magazine "Youth Literature" in 2010. One of my favorite pieces of the whole book is "Fire Beast", which was only published in 2021 and is actually a novel I wrote in 2011. Written relatively close to the time is "When Hesitating Is Closer to Morality", which was also a work of several years ago, and was published in Flower City magazine. This book made me feel a lot of emotions, because it was probably the most arrogant book for me, a period when I didn't think much about writing techniques, and I wrote very recklessly. I wouldn't write that now, but for me, this book is a record of my nature. Perhaps the starting point of every writer is composed of these natures.

Hou Lei, "The Daughter of the Textile Factory"

2021 "Tianya Literature Self-Certification" | Young Writers Self-Recommendation List IV

Novella | Youth Literature, No. 2, 2021

In this novel there is the shadow of my mother, who grew up in the factory area and worked in the textile system. Their stories, their endings, we've told too little. The problems of our previous generation have not yet been clearly thought out, and the next generation has happened. Looking back at the past at any time is one direction of my writing.

The novel is about a post-50s textile worker, from her schooling and growing up, to the story of her entering a textile factory in the 1970s and retiring from illness in the 1990s. This is also a period of history since the founding of New China, from the construction of textile factories in the 1950s to the upgrading of the textile industry since the 1990s, the transformation and even closure and disappearance of the old state-owned textile factories, and the workers have gradually lost their former aura. The reason why it is called "The Daughter of the Textile Factory" is because the heroine is the child of the textile factory, the factory is the mother, and the female worker is the daughter of the textile factory.

After his publication, his works were reprinted in Novel Monthly, No. 4, 2021, and included in the Selected Editions of Contemporary Chinese Literature (No. 6) edited by Wang Xinpeng, and published by China Yanshi Publishing House in June 2021.

Liang Baoxing,"Saipan Past"

2021 "Tianya Literature Self-Certification" | Young Writers Self-Recommendation List IV

Short story | Flower City, No. 1, 2021

Once Upon a Time in Saipan is a war-related story. More than seventy years ago, the United States and Japan fought on the islands in the Pacific, and finally Japan was defeated, and thousands of besieged Japanese jumped into the sea to commit suicide. More than seventy years later, I will write about such a cruel war, through supernatural events, to make the victims of the war speak again. During the pandemic, I was tired of writing about my daily life and put my energy into grand narratives, and "Once Upon a Time in Saipan" was an attempt to use three-handed experience to write.

Feng Na, "When Do Trees Need Eyes"

2021 "Tianya Literature Self-Certification" | Young Writers Self-Recommendation List IV

The collected poems | Writers Press

When does a tree need eyes? When do people need poetry? When a poet gradually moves forward at a uniform pace in his nearly 20-year writing career, how can he recognize and recognize the exquisite moments in daily life and the propositions that the times have given to mankind? The collection of poems can be seen as a poet's trial and error in the past five years. On the way to the year of "no confusion", the lessons given to me by nature, history and humanities, and life itself, the stories of those trembling hearts in life, the unknown and difficult moments, all gained their own time in the contemplation of poetry. And I also deeper realized in such practice that "I write for the sake of the passage of time to make me feel at ease." (Borges)

Fan Dunzi "Lyrical Era"

2021 "Tianya Literature Self-Certification" | Young Writers Self-Recommendation List IV

The novel | Anhui Literature and Art Publishing House

Two years ago, in the summer, I began to write a long novel "Lyrical Age", this move, that is, nearly a year of time, during which there are times when writing well, there are also moments of darkness, only by immersing myself in long writing for a long time, I understand the joy and hardship of long writing. This book I want to give the young generation a legacy, but the deep meaning, is to reflect the changes of the times in the past thirty years from the side, the yangmei and Yang Dapeng in the book were both born in the early stage of reform, from childhood memories, they have witnessed the great changes of the entire era and the rapid development of society, from the countryside to the city, from the city back to the countryside, although their souls often feel lonely, often feel helpless, but there is no doubt that they are the beneficiaries of this era, every change in their hearts, They are all closely related to the development of this era, and the tide of the times pushes them forward all the time.

The Waste man "Rooster Priest"

2021 "Tianya Literature Self-Certification" | Young Writers Self-Recommendation List IV

Short story | Flower City, No. 6, 2021

The novel "Rooster Priest" was written in 2018, but the ideas and ideas were almost forgotten, but I clearly remember when I wrote "Rooster Priest", there was a kind of anxiety, an anxiety for new things, which does not mean that I reject new things, I am rejecting new things to bring me new variables in my life, I am wary of this variable, we feel that "they" are taking advantage of the weakness of human nature to carry out a transformation of our human beings, just like we humans domesticated pheasants into domestic animals, higher thinking is training us. That's why there is this image of a rooster. When we look at "big data" from another perspective, we will find that under the new variables, the good and evil of people have never changed, and escaping from reality and returning to reality are exactly the same in some aspects.

The short story | Shanghai Literature, No. 1, 2021

The Chain of Destiny is the title of a group of novels, each with a maximum of five or six thousand words. It was a whole new experience for me and a rebellion against the "old me". Previously, I had tried to avoid writing about my friends, but in the Chain of Destiny series, I deliberately introduced me and my friends into fiction. At the end of 2019, I plan to write two such short stories every year after that, and when I have enough of a collection, I will publish it in a collection, which should be my first short story collection that has been planned for the beginning, I try to make them more perfect, and I deliberately use this length to polish myself. I look forward to the characters in Chain of Destiny growing up with me, and I wish the friendship to last forever.
