In 1935, two senior generals of the Red Army mysteriously disappeared, and after the founding of the Country, they were told by a senior monk to go out

In October 1934, after the failure of the fifth anti-encirclement and suppression campaign, the main forces of the Red Army made a strategic shift to get rid of the encirclement.

On the day of departure, Yang Daoming, chairman of the government of Fujian Province, looked at the back of the main force of the Red Army leaving and stopped for a long time. He already had a hunch that the next step would not be easy. History proves that the Red Army remaining in the Fujian-Gansu Soviet Zone is about to usher in an unprecedented test.

Because of the implementation of the "left" wrong route some time ago, the streets of Ninghua County, Fujian Province, were sparsely populated and commercially depressed. There are only a few public cooperatives left in the city to sell some ordinary goods, and the necessities of life such as matches and salt cannot be bought at all.

Yang Daoming, the chairman of the Fujian Provincial Government who had just arrived, was extremely anxious, and in view of such a grim situation, he immediately launched a series of measures.

In 1935, two senior generals of the Red Army mysteriously disappeared, and after the founding of the Country, they were told by a senior monk to go out

The main task is to mobilize the "anti-water" people to return to their hometowns for autumn harvest and winter planting, and to strengthen the defense work in the Soviet zone. At the same time, Yang Daoming also held a meeting at Guangyan Temple to care for the martyrs' military dependents, and organized more than 200 people to come and participate. In addition, in order to alleviate the shortage of grain and materials, Yang Daoming intensified the procurement of grain and specially sent guerrillas to purchase them in foreign villages.

The frequent flights and instability in Ninghua City had indeed eased, but Yang Daoming did not expect that a greater crisis was at hand.

In November, a month after the Red Army had been moving, 9,000 men of the Fifty Divisions of the Kuomintang army suddenly launched an attack on Fujian Province. There were only 2 regiments in the Fujian-Gansu Area, but a team of only a few hundred people, and there was no slightest advantage in terms of equipment or numbers.

Because the disparity between the enemy and our forces was too great, the Fujian Provincial Party Committee made such a decision when the enemy army reached the Qingliu area. On the one hand, yang Daoming, the chairman of the government, led the provincial organs and the wounded and sick to retreat. On the other hand, the military region mobilized the armed forces of all sides to fight a decisive battle with the enemy.

Yang Daoming was preparing for the retreat according to the previous deployment, but the news came from the Qingliu area:

"The military compromise faction used 'preserve strength, do not fight a hard battle' as a reason, and withdrew without firing a shot, and Qingliu had already lost its way."

The Qing Dynasty lost its defense, and the county seat of Ninghua was already in danger. Yang Daoming immediately led the people to evacuate Ninghua County, and from then on began to enter the stage of arduous guerrilla warfare.

In 1935, two senior generals of the Red Army mysteriously disappeared, and after the founding of the Country, they were told by a senior monk to go out

Because the transfer was hasty, there was no prior rigorous formation, and there was no time to carefully study the organization, appointment and adjustment of personnel. It was only to organize the personnel of the provincial party committee, the provincial Soviet Union, and the provincial federation of trade unions into a regiment and act together with the troops of the military region.

Without strict organization and no reconnaissance of the enemy's situation, Yang Daoming and his party were ambushed by the enemy chasing from Ninghua, and some comrades were unfortunately arrested. They traveled to Pengpan County, but fortunately the county Soviet government agency here was still there, and Yang Daoming and his party received a short period of recuperation.

Two days later, Yang Daoming left Pengpan County to follow the troops in the direction of Ruijin. Not long after their departure, they met Zhong Xunren, the newly appointed secretary of the Provincial Party Committee of Fujian Province and political commissar of the Military Region.

After Zhong Xunren and Yang Daoming and their party met, they also knew that the troops were facing a serious crisis. Not only are there strong enemies on the outside, but there are also many people on the inside who have developed pessimistic emotions.

In 1935, two senior generals of the Red Army mysteriously disappeared, and after the founding of the Country, they were told by a senior monk to go out

Zhong Xunren found the cadres in the unit to talk and listen to the report. The result was much to his dismay. He found that there was a serious disunity between the principal leaders of the military district and the provincial soviets and provincial committees. The main crux of the contradiction lies in the leading cadres headed by Song Qingquan, commander of the military region, and Peng Jianghan, chief of staff. They have always ignored the other leaders of the provincial authorities.

What is more serious is that although Zhong Xunren is the political commissar of the military region, he does not have the actual command of the army. At that time, the command of the troops was firmly held by Song Qingquan, Peng Jianghan and others.

Zhong Xunren had no choice but to do his best to maintain the unity of the troops while leading the team around with other cadres. Since coming out of Ninghua City, the troops have been in a passive position except for two small victories, and their losses have been very large.

Early one morning, just as the troops had eaten breakfast and were about to leave, the Kuomintang troops caught up with them. At that time, troops were stationed on both sides of a river. Because the enemy suddenly came to fight, the troops were too busy to meet the battle, and they could not assemble for a while, so they could only retreat while fighting, and the troops of a regiment were scattered.

After Yang Daoming and Zhong Xunren escaped from the enemy, they found that only the provincial government work group and a force of about 300 people were left.

Soon after, Zhong Xunren received a telegram from the Central Bureau. This roughly means that the Central Sub-Bureau will no longer use telegrams to contact Fujian and Gansu, and the struggle in the Fujian-Gansu base area must be persisted independently and autonomously.

In the face of this telegram, the cadres of the provincial working group and the military region were worried one by one. The difference is that some people are worried about the future of the troops, and some people are planning for their own future.

In May 1935, the troops finally temporarily escaped the pursuit of the Kuomintang troops and came to the Purple Mountain at the intersection of Dehua, Xianyou, and Yongtai counties.

In 1935, two senior generals of the Red Army mysteriously disappeared, and after the founding of the Country, they were told by a senior monk to go out

Yang Daoming and Zhong Xunren thought they could finally breathe a sigh of relief, but the security regiment in the nearby county once again surrounded them. The troops had no choice but to go up the mountain to hide, and when they reached the mountain, Zhong Xunren immediately convened an enlarged meeting of the provincial party committee to study the next course of action.

At the meeting, several people in Song Qingquan strongly opposed the plan to move in the direction of southern Fujian, and their rhetoric was fierce, and finally they dispersed unhappily. In fact, at that time, there were still hundreds of troops in the army, and they still had guns in their hands, that is, there were fewer bullets, but they could still rely on geographical advantages to get rid of the enemy, and they did not reach the point of helplessness.

Because the troops were in the hands of Song Qingquan, he did not move and did not adopt any operational opinions. Zhong Xunren sensed his abnormality and decided to secretly observe.

The enemy down the hill could not resist and began to conduct psychological warfare against the Red Army on the hill, and the sound of surrendering to the enemy gradually appeared in the troops. On the other hand, the security regiment began to try to narrow the encirclement.

Zhong Xunren and Yang Daoming continued to do everyone's ideological work in order to encourage the soldiers. At the same time, Song Qingquan and his gang began their action.

In 1935, two senior generals of the Red Army mysteriously disappeared, and after the founding of the Country, they were told by a senior monk to go out

At noon one day, a militiaman claiming to be surnamed Chen claimed to have come to look for the leader of the military region, and was taken to the headquarters by the sentry and talked with Several people from Song Qingquan for one night. Early the next morning, Yang Liansheng, the company instructor, followed the militia down the mountain. When Yang Daoming found out about this situation, he rebuked Song Qingquan's allies, but the man said, "Just deal with it." ”

Yang Daoming immediately told Zhong Xunren about the situation. Secretary Zhong felt that the situation was no longer good, and they had to make a final fight. Zhong Xunren found Song Qingquan and asked him to move his troops to the top of the mountain.

In the course of the operation, Zhong Xunren deliberately sought out Song Qingquan and his cadres of the Military Region, comforted and encouraged them, and said: "Guerrilla warfare is a long one, and we must continue to develop the revolution in the course of arduous struggle. However, no matter what he said, Song Qingquan just ignored it and didn't say a word.

When the troops reached the top of the mountain, Song Qingquan, citing the inability of the personnel of the provincial party committee organs to move, arranged the leading position of the provincial party committee and the provincial Su in a remote place some distance away from the troops.

On the afternoon after ascending the mountain, an officer in a Kuomintang uniform, with two soldiers and carrying a fat pig, came to the garrison of the troops in a dignified manner.

After the comrades of the provincial party committee found out, Zhong Xunren convened a meeting of the Provincial Party Committee of Fujian for the last time. After Zhong Xunren's speech, Yang Daoming also made a speech, saying: "We must listen to the words of the Central Sub-Bureau and the Provincial Party Committee and persist in the struggle. Song Qingquan said with a disdainful face: "What provincial party committee has I heard so far?" Once again, the meeting broke up unhappily.

That night, Yang Daoming got up in the middle of the night and found that the army garrison was quiet. It turned out that Song Qingquan had already tricked his troops into surrendering at the bottom of the mountain. Yang Daoming quickly found Zhong Xunren to discuss countermeasures.

At this time, only the provincial party committee organ work group and some fallen soldiers were left on the Purple Mountain. Around the early hours of the morning, a group of vigilante groups rushed up the mountain to encircle and suppress them. More than twenty cadres were killed and more than a dozen were taken prisoner. In the end, only more than 20 people led by Yang Daoming and Zhong Xunren were left.

In 1935, two senior generals of the Red Army mysteriously disappeared, and after the founding of the Country, they were told by a senior monk to go out

If you can't break through, then these 20 people will eventually be completely annihilated. Therefore, after brief deliberation, Zhong Xunren and Yang Daoming each led a group of people to break through in the direction of Yongtai, the weakest enemy.

After nightfall, the troops on the mountain began to break through, and after more than 10 people rushed out, they hid in a large mountain in Yongtai. By this time, it was already dawn, and the troops had to hide.

At night, Zhong Xunren quietly touched out with someone. Having not eaten for two days, they bought some sweet potatoes and rice to feed themselves and gave some money to beg the farmers to show the way.

The farmer acceded to the request and found a boat to cross the river in two parts. Just as the transition was in place, the enemy in a bunker by the river spotted it and opened fire.

Several people were beaten and injured, but fortunately the people rescued them. The remaining 7 people rushed over and found a place to hide. A few days later, in the difficult environment of language barrier and the loss of troops, the surviving agency personnel proposed to Zhong Xunren and Yang Daoming the idea of going home.

But Yang Daoming and Zhong Xunren, well-known Communist Party cadres in their hometown of Xingguo County, were reluctant to return home. And the family has long been destroyed, it is homeless. The two men could not stop the others from staying, so they had to separate from them. At this point, the Fujian Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Su Province completely failed and died.

In order to hide his eyes and ears, Yang Daoming assumed the pseudonym Xie Changsheng, and Zhong Xunren assumed the pseudonym Huang Jiafa and continued to walk in the direction of Yongtai's west. Passing by a temple, the two suddenly thought that they were not familiar with this place, had no money, and did not understand the language, whether it was overnight or meals, it would easily arouse people's suspicions. It is better to live in the temple for a while and take care of your body for the time being.

In 1935, two senior generals of the Red Army mysteriously disappeared, and after the founding of the Country, they were told by a senior monk to go out

As soon as the two of them combined, they entered the temple and met the abbot, Master Myochi. Considering that there were too many pedestrians passing by in the temple, the master was afraid of causing trouble to the temple, so he introduced the two people to a temple at the junction of Yongtai and Youxi.

Yang Daoming and Zhong Xunren walked for a few days according to the path pointed out by Master Miaozhi and came to the temple where they were introduced. The abbot of the temple, Master Pin Xiang, looked at the two men's temperament and felt that it was not like someone who wanted to convert sincerely and refused to take them in.

After repeated requests from the two people, Master Pin Xiang felt that he would investigate for two months first. Two months later, Yang Daoming and Zhong Xunren were ordained successively, with the names of Xin Yang and Miao Yuan, respectively. In order not to arouse the suspicion of others, they are silent and try to minimize contact with outsiders.

At the same time, the rebellious Song Qingquan and others claimed to have killed Yang Daoming and Zhong Xunren with their own hands in order to seek credit. Unable to find any trace, the Central Bureau thought they had indeed been killed by traitors and did not send anyone to find their whereabouts. Yang Daoming and Zhong Xunren spent the rest of their lives in the temple.

For Yang and Zhong, who are hiding in the temple, reuniting with the party organization is their wish all the time. One day in 1943, two comrades of the underground party in central Fujian passed by the temple where Yang and Zhong were located. After a brief conversation, Yang and Zhong became aware of each other's identities. I want to wait until the other person has eaten lunch before talking. They did not expect that the two underground parties had eaten and left in a hurry.

Fate is sometimes so wonderful that their only chance to find the party organization is missed.

In 1945, when a guerrilla force passed through Yongtai, it killed a security detachment leader, and the county police station could not find the enemy, so it arrested all the suspicious people in the county. Yang Daoming was inexplicably arrested and imprisoned. Zhong Xunren left the temple to avoid being pursued.

In 1935, two senior generals of the Red Army mysteriously disappeared, and after the founding of the Country, they were told by a senior monk to go out

Because he changed his name early and left home, although the police station was suspicious, it could not produce any evidence. After interrogating Yang Daoming seven or eight times, the police station still couldn't hold the handle and didn't want to let him go easily. A few months later, Yang Daoming was sent to the security regiment in fuqing county next to him, but still could not interrogate anything and then sent people to Fuzhou.

In this way, Yang Daoming sat in a prison cell between several counties for a year. A year later, after a joint guarantee from several regional Buddhist circles, Yang Daoming was successfully released from prison. The long-term torture and the dark living environment caused Yang Daoming's body to suffer from severe lung disease, coughing and vomiting blood.

Yang Daoming returned to the temple, and with the help of herbs and deep mountain recuperation, his condition gradually improved. Zhong Xunren, who fled abroad, also found a temple settlement and escaped with the help of the temple people. It was not until 1949 that Zhong Xunren returned to his former temple to meet his comrade-in-arms Yang Daoming.

Perhaps, some people will wonder, why don't they go to the troops themselves? In fact, this stems from one of their psychology, especially Zhong Xunren. Before liberation, the traitor Song Qingquan and others cooperated with the Kuomintang to log in the newspaper that "the Mingan government has been completely destroyed and Zhong Xunren has been killed by his own hands."

After Zhong Xunren saw these news, he made up his mind to bury his life and not show his head. In the future, only the names of Huang Jiafa and Miaoyuan were used in society. Just as they refused to go home, Zhong Xunren and Yang Daoming felt that as leaders and leaders of the Fujian region, they did not protect the base areas and did not fight a guerrilla war as instructed by the Central Bureau.

In just half a year, the troops in the Fujian region were completely damaged. How can they not blame themselves?

On August 11, 1949, Yongtai County was liberated. Yang Daoming was very happy to see the people turned around and liberated, and he was ecstatic. On October 1, when New China was officially founded, Yang Daoming could not resist the excitement in his heart and wanted to write a letter to Chairman Mao. How much he wanted to see Chairman Mao and some of his old comrades-in-arms again!

In 1935, two senior generals of the Red Army mysteriously disappeared, and after the founding of the Country, they were told by a senior monk to go out

As early as when he was in Xingguo County, Yang Daoming had met Chairman Mao. In 1934, when the central government transferred Yang Daoming to the chairman of the Fujian government, he was only 25 years old, lacked confidence, and had always had concerns. At that time, it was Chairman Mao himself who approached him for talks and encouraged and taught him: "The anti-encirclement and suppression work is long-term and arduous. ”

Yang Daoming was overwhelmed at the thought of Chairman Mao, but this idea was quickly dispelled. Min Gan Province suffered a terrible defeat, and he had become a monk. The Party has been out of touch for many years, and the Revolution has triumphed before finding the Party Central Committee.

Shame once again surged into Yang Daoming's heart, and he still decided to bury his own affairs in his heart. In order to repay the party, Yang Daoming actively cultivated land around the temple, and could pay an extra 1,000 catties of grain to the state every year. In addition, he organized temple personnel to help the government copy and write, and provided relief to the township, which was unanimously praised by the local government and the people.

The good times were short-lived, during ten years of turmoil. Nor has the religious policy been implemented. As a mage, Yang Daoming became the target of many people's attacks, and a large number of charges were thrown at his head. Yang Daoming felt that the temple was not a long-term solution.

After many years away from home, although there may be no one at home, Yang Daoming still desperately hopes to go home to see. So he began to try to communicate with his hometown. After receiving the response, Yang Daoming immediately took off his robe and returned to Xingguo County, Jiangxi. After a lifetime of setbacks and uprooting, Yang Daoming finally enjoyed the warmth of home.

In 1935, two senior generals of the Red Army mysteriously disappeared, and after the founding of the Country, they were told by a senior monk to go out

In 1978, unjust, false and wrongly decided cases were being redressed throughout the country, and various religious policies were gradually implemented. The Xingguo County Government learned of the fact that Yang Daoming, the chairman of the government of the Fujian-Gansu District, was still alive, and sent people to contact him many times.

The Jiangxi provincial government also attaches great importance to it, and specially sent an investigation team to conduct an in-depth investigation of Yang Daoming's experience. In the end, they came to an objective and fair conclusion:

"It is believed that Comrade Yang Daoming engaged in revolutionary work from 1930 to 1935 and made certain contributions to the party and the people. He left the revolutionary ranks in May 1935 and has always believed in Buddhism and supported the Communist Party, and is a well-known figure in the religious circles of Yongtai County. ”

Being able to get the trust of the organization again, Yang Daoming's mood could not be calmed, and his wish for many years was finally fulfilled. In addition to drawing conclusions, Yang Daoming was also assigned to serve as a member of the Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, vice president of the Provincial Buddhist Association, and president of the Yongtai County Buddhist Association.

At this time, Yang Daoming only had one wish, that is, to do as much as possible for the country and people. He began to vigorously assist the party and the government in propagating and implementing religious policies, and organized monks to participate in productive labor. During Yang Daoming's tenure as abbot of the temple, he achieved self-sufficiency in firewood, grain, oil and incense candles in the temple, and was rated as an advanced unit by the Provincial Buddhist Association for many times.

As a high-ranking monk with a certain reputation in the Buddhist circles, Yang Daoming has long united Buddhists and taught monks to love the party and the country. While actively guiding Buddhism to adapt to socialism, he also engaged in charity work.

In 1935, two senior generals of the Red Army mysteriously disappeared, and after the founding of the Country, they were told by a senior monk to go out

Through thrift and thrift, the income from the temple is used to invest in public welfare undertakings and temple construction. In Yongtai County, there are always Yang Daoming and temple personnel in public welfare affairs such as road construction, bridge repair, donation to the disabled, etc.

In 1989, the provincial, municipal and county organization departments of Jiangxi Province and the study of party history came to the temple in Yongtai County to visit Yang Daoming. It turned out that they had come to inquire about the whereabouts of Zhong Xunren, secretary of the provincial party committee of Fujian Province.

Yang Daoming could no longer hide it, and told them about his experience and the "persistence" in Zhong Xunren's heart.

The two changed their names together that year, so only Yang Daoming knew the truth. Both of them felt guilty in their hearts and did not want to regain their identities, and Zhong Xunren's heart knot was even heavier. After liberation, he often said to himself: "I'm sorry to the party, sorry to the people, and I have failed to live up to the party's trust." There is no face to face the hometown people and the center. Therefore, he had already decided to hide his name for a lifetime, and repeatedly instructed Yang Daoming to keep secrets for himself.

After liberation, Although Zhong Xunren and Yang Daoming were in constant contact, they were not in the same monastery. They were all in the same mood, wanting to do what they could for the country.

Zhong Xunren responded to the call of the state and led the people of the temple to take off their shoes and go to the field and began to live a life of self-sufficiency. He leads by example, working at sunrise and resting at sunset. Picking dung and planting seedlings, Zhong Xunren is capable. He transformed a feudal and superstitious temple into a self-sufficient and advanced temple. Between busyness, Zhong Xunren often composed poems to express his thoughts.

"Since entering the mountains, everything is like a numb, willing to make a home with blood and sweat." In addition to self-cultivation and self-cultivation, all actions are subject to the party's words. ”

This is his deep expression of his feelings for the party in his spare time.

During the ten years of turmoil, Yang Daoming prepared to return to his hometown to see, but Zhong Xunren still insisted on burying his life. He stayed in the temple to continue his labor, expressing his longing for his hometown in his own way.

In 1980, Zhong Xunren fell seriously ill and did not improve after several treatments. At this point, he was 75 years old. The following spring, Zhong Xunren was already bedridden, Yang Daoming rushed to see him, Zhong Xunren grabbed his hand and said:

"My illness can no longer be cured, no one knows my real name, and after death, I will keep it a secret as usual, do not write letters to my family, and do not reflect to my superiors." Remember! Remember! ”

On April 29, 1981, Zhong Xunren died in the temple. Until the end, he did not restore Zhong Xunren's identity, but was cremated according to Buddhist etiquette under the name of Master Miaoyuan.

In 1935, two senior generals of the Red Army mysteriously disappeared, and after the founding of the Country, they were told by a senior monk to go out

Yang Daoming bid farewell to the comrade who fought side by side. The persistence in Zhong Xunren's heart was only something he could understand. It is precisely because of Zhong Xunren's last words that Yang Daoming has never revealed the fact and whereabouts of his life to anyone.

It's been nearly a decade since Mr. Chung left, and Mr. Yang may not have imagined that the government would come to investigate. In 1989, Yang Daoming was 80 years old, and he was also in his twilight years. When he saw the eager eyes of a room full of staff, he might have thought it was time to say it all.

In Yang Daoming's report on Zhong Xunren, there is such a passage:

"I'm 80 years old and I'm dying. If we do not reflect the truth that Zhong Xunren buried all his life and keep it secret, once I die, it will become an unsolved case in the history of the Party and will be detrimental to the Party. For this reason, I was very anxious, and I collected Zhong Xunren's suicide note, relics, and photos to my superiors. ”

On that day, Yang Daoming told the comrades of party history a lot, especially his ordinary life after he was buried in anonymity. Speaking zhong xunren was like talking about himself, and Yang Daoming's eyes seemed to return to that time.

On May 4, 1999, Yang Daoming died at the age of 90 at Nengren Temple in Yongtai County due to ineffective treatment.
