According to Liu Xiaojian, Executive Chairman of the OpenHarmony Project Group Working Committee and Vice President of the Software Dept of Huawei's Device BG, since OpenHarmony was open source for more than three years, more than 300 partners have joined the OpenHarmony ecosystem, more than 7,500 co-builders have contributed, contributed more than 110 million lines of code, and a total of 596 software and hardware products from 227 manufacturers have passed the OpenHarmony compatibility evaluation.

Among them, there are 46 software releases and 329 commercial devices, covering education, finance, transportation, government affairs, medical care, aviation and other industries, and has become the fastest growing open source operating system in the field of intelligent terminals.

In September 2020 and May 2021, Huawei donated all of its basic capabilities of HarmonyOS to the Open Atom Open Source Foundation, a non-profit independent legal entity for the open source industry, which integrated contributions from other participants to form the OpenHarmony open source project.

"It has become an industry consensus to accelerate the ecological co-construction of operating systems in an open source model." Cheng Xiaoming, Chairman of the Open Atom Open Source Foundation, said that OpenHarmony, as a star project focused on the Open Atom Open Source Foundation, has gathered the strength of all parties in the past three years to jointly promote the growth and maturity of OpenHarmony in community governance, legal compliance, brand influence and talent ecosystem construction.

According to the Shenzhen Special Zone Daily, "the HarmonyOS ecosystem has more than 4,000+ native applications, more than 800 million HarmonyOS ecological devices, more than 2.2 million developers, and the HarmonyOS system has a market share of more than 15% in China, becoming the third largest system, and the HarmonyOS ecosystem is flourishing." This is the latest news revealed by Du Jinbiao, general manager of Hongmeng Ecological Service Company, at the Hongmeng Ecological Vientiane New Native Application Cooperation and Exchange Conference held on May 20.

It is reported that with the upcoming launch of HarmonyOS NEXT version by Huawei on June 21 this year, the HarmonyOS system will no longer be compatible with Android applications, and the entire HarmonyOS ecosystem is about to enter a new stage. Huawei plans to ship about 60 million ~ 65 million mobile phones in 2024; It will work with partners to create 5,000 "native" HarmonyOS native applications, and will further expand to 50,000 and 500,000 in the future.

At present, the HarmonyOS Campus Open Class has entered 135 colleges and universities, 305 college students have participated in HarmonyOS activities, 286 companies have participated in the HarmonyOS Ecological School, and 380,000+ developers have passed the HarmonyOS certification. More and more users, developers, and industry partners are actively embracing the HarmonyOS ecosystem.

Since September last year, Huawei announced the launch of HarmonyOS native application development, and more than 4,000 applications have joined the HarmonyOS ecosystem.

At Huawei's recent summer all-scenario press conference, Yu Chengdong revealed that the number of HarmonyOS ecological devices currently exceeds 800 million. Since the start of the public beta of HarmonyOS 4.2, more than 20 million users have been upgraded, and user satisfaction has increased by 11%. Currently, 180 devices can be upgraded to HarmonyOS 4.2, covering smartphones, tablets, watches, smart screens, and more.

Open source software has become a solid foundation for the digital ecosystem. The agency believes that Huawei has formed a wide alliance with HarmonyOS ecosystem partners through OpenHarmony, and partners can focus on promoting hardware terminals that are not covered by Huawei's own business, and promote the implementation of HarmonyOS in thousands of industries.
