Childhood experiences
Comrade Liu Jiande was born in 1923, in a family in Suxian County, Anhui Province, the family's economic conditions are not good, life is poor, and he has been weak since childhood, not very good, but at the age of three, Liu Jiande had a serious illness, watching the child's condition worsen sharply, but indeed unable to pay high costs for treatment.
Everyone watched Liu Jiande suffer from illness when he was a child, very heart-wrenching but helpless, but he did not expect that the child actually insisted on it in the end. Later, he was healed.
Later, the family took him to private school to study, and Liu Jiande also understood that the opportunity to learn was not easy to come by, very cherished, plus he was also hard and intelligent, the academic performance was very good, but helpless, the family economy was really poor, only two years of schooling, he was forced to drop out of school and go home, help the family, sell hard to cut firewood, subsidize the family, even so, he still did not let go of any learning opportunities, when cutting firewood, there were passing by the school, he would lie by the window to listen, and after a long time, he really let him learn something.

When Liu Jiande was sixteen years old, due to the gradual expansion of the War of Resistance Against Japan, he consulted with several partners in the same village to join the army to resist Japan and defend his family and country, and later they successfully joined the New Fourth Army and entered the fourth detachment.
In the days of the fourth detachment, Liu Jiande, with his excellent performance and hard work style, soon became a squad leader, and later joined the Communist Party honorably, and then he was slowly promoted to instructor of the 3rd Battalion of the 187th Regiment.
And as the fourth detachment of the New Fourth Army, since its inception, is a very strong unit, dare to fight and dare to charge, people are very impressive, in the Huaihai Campaign, his fourth detachment, incorporated into the second column of the East China Field Army, they received orders to attack the enemy's Wangtang stronghold, both sides fought very fiercely, the soldiers of the Seventh Company and the Ninth Company sacrificed a lot, were forced to helpless, as the eighth company of the reserve team entered the battlefield, the battle was not very smooth at the beginning, the battalion commander Lu Rui took Liu Jiande to observe the enemy situation, Unexpectedly, he was hit in the head by the opponent's machine gun and died on the spot. Liu Jiande saw That Lu Rui was sacrificed in front of his eyes, very sad and indignant, so he took the lead in the charge, morale rose at once, after a desperate fight, he took the stronghold, opening a gap for the troops behind, but this battle, for the Eighth Company, was too miserable. There were only about 20 people left in the company, and almost all the surviving fighters were hung up, and Liu Jiande's five friends from the same village were also killed in this battle. Therefore, the Huaihai Battle Memorial Hall established in Xuzhou later, Liu Jiande was very reluctant to go, because too many of his comrades were sacrificed here.
As an example, the growth of children
After the founding of New China, Liu Jiande again participated in the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, served several times, and finally ended his military career in the Lanzhou Military Region, and later he had the honor to return to the old unit, and when he saw the young soldiers in the heroic Eighth Company at that time, he choked up and could not speak several times, because he also remembered his comrades-in-arms at that time, and if they were still alive, how good it would be to see the establishment and rise of New China.
Liu Jiande later had a total of five children with his wife Chen Yuxiang, and he had high hopes for his eldest son, Chen Yaya, hoping that his son would exercise himself well in the army and grow up, and the unit where his son went was the "Heroic Eighth Company" where he had been.
As Liu Jiande's son, they did not disappoint their father, Liu Ya slowly grew up later, the official title was later awarded the rank of general, during the university period, he interacted with Li Xiannian's daughter, and then also married and had children, the second son's achievements are not small, becoming a major general, the other three also have their own achievements, as a father, the five children led out are very excellent and worthy of admiration.
