His prophecy was a surprise to future generations. However, the "Push back map" that he co-authored with Si Tianjian Li Chunfeng was listed as a banned book because the prophecy was too accurate, which shocked the rulers of successive dynasties.

Fang Xuanling and Li Zhensu met with Yuan Tiangang together. Li Zhensu was usually arrogant and arrogant, and did not put Fang Xuanling in his eyes, and Fang Xuanling let him look first. Yuan Tiangang said, "Wupin can't see it. If it is a more important official position below six pins, it is still possible. Li Zhensu, who had a very high self-esteem, was naturally not convinced, so he stopped asking about his own affairs and said, "See what kind of official Fang Gong can get?" Yuan Tiangang said, "This official is very rich and noble, if you want to get the official position of Wupin, please ask him." Li Zhensu did not believe Yuan Tiangang's words. As a result, Fang Xuanling later became the prime minister, and before his death, the official position was only a humble living quartersman.

Yuan Tiangang's divine accuracy of looking at the face is also recorded in the Old Book of Tang, Yuan once gave Wu Zetian, who was dressed in swaddling men's clothing, a look at the face, and told Wu Zetian's family: "If it is a woman, it is really unpredictable, and then it should be the lord of the world!" ”

Wu Zetian once asked Li Chunfeng and Yuan Tiangang to choose a cemetery for him to go to the survey. First, Li Chunfeng found the Nine Ridges Mountain Dragon's Den Ji Lang and buried a copper coin; then asked Yuan to go out to look for it, and also found this place, so he pulled a silver noodle from his head and inserted it. Wu Zetian asked someone to verify whether the two people chose the dragon's den to be consistent, and as a result, they dug open and saw that Yuan Tiangang's silver noodles were inserted in the square hole of the copper coin. According to legend, Li Chunfeng finally returned to Chengxian, so there was no real tomb, only a crown tomb, and the tomb of Yuan Tiangang was only a few hundred meters away, and the two coincidentally chose the cemetery in the same place, behind the Dugong Ancestral Mountain in the southeast of Chang'an County. The ancestral hall is located on a loess slope. Above the loess slope is a flat field. In this high field, Li's tomb is in the south and has been excavated, while Yuan's tomb is in the north, but it is still intact. Both of them were familiar with public magic, their skills were almost the same, and the locations were not far apart, but the situation of the tomb was very different.

It turned out that after the fall of the Tang Dynasty, Li Chunfeng's tomb was stolen and now it has become a scenic spot, and the tomb of Yuan Tiangang, which is not far away, since the beginning of the Song Dynasty, all dynasties have been barracks, and it has always belonged to the scope of the military camp, which has never changed for hundreds of years, and Yuan Tiangang's tomb has spent nearly a thousand years in such a stable way, and no one dares to move.
