Every winter, when the cold wind blows, I especially want to eat freshly baked sweet potatoes, sugar fried chestnuts, or sit around with family and friends to eat hot pot, and then cook a pot of hot tea.
These things warmed the palms of the hands, but also warmed the internal organs, dispelling the cold in the air. On a cold winter night, the poet Du Lei's home was visited by guests, and he wrote this poem for this purpose.

"Cold Night"
Southern Song Dynasty
Cold night guests come to tea as wine,
Bamboo stove soup boiling fire first red.
Usually the same window before the month,
Only plum blossoms are different.
In the cold night, guests came, and the poet replaced the wine with tea and instructed the waiter to make tea. The charcoal fire in the stove gradually turned red, the tea soup boiled in the pot, and the room was warm and baked.
There are guests to visit, the host does not have a special warm wine, nor because there is no wine and feel sluggish guests, presumably this guest must be a regular customer, is a regular customer who can "lean on the staff and knock on the door all the time", do not need to be bound by ordinary etiquette.
And in the cold night, interested in visiting the door will not be an ordinary general friend, he and the owner are likely to be close friends, have a common Yaxing and deep friendship, so they can cook tea with the host in the cold night, around the stove to talk.
The outside of the house is cold, and the inside is warm as spring.
The bright moon shines in front of the window, which is no different from usual, but there are still a few plum blossoms in front of the window blooming leisurely in the moonlight, emitting a burst of fragrance, and tonight's moon color is particularly different from the past.
The poet writes about plum blossoms at this moment, ostensibly admiring the purity and fragrance of plum blossoms, but in fact secretly praising the visitors for having a character and charm like plum blossoms.
The moon is as usual and commonplace, but because of the number of like-minded friends, the atmosphere of tea under the moon is very different from usual.
This poem was selected into the Ming and Qing Dynasty children's popular reading "Thousand Family Poems" and was widely circulated.
It seems that the poems written with a pen and stroke vividly reflect the poet's joyful mood, which means a long time.
