The long river of history is running endlessly, there are calm waves, there are also waves, let Xiaobian take you into history and understand history.
In terms of the total number of elite forces destroyed by the enemy, Higashino still has to come first, note that we are talking about the enemy's "elite forces" and not only the number of troops. Because the Northeast Field Army fought from the White Mountains and Black Water to the ends of the earth, during which it destroyed a number of military groups of the most effective factions and miscellaneous brands of the Kuomintang army at that time, including the system of the army stationed in India, the system of the expeditionary force, the Suiyuan troops, the warlords of Liangguang who were relatively good at war, and the Dian army, which was very well equipped.

In particular, the "Army Stationed in India" was separated because this unit was completely equipped and trained by the Americans, that is, Sun Liren's New First Army and Liao Yaoxiang's New Sixth Army, whose equipment level, firepower intensity, and combat quality were far higher than those of the Second Expeditionary Force responsible for the counteroffensive in western Yunnan, and in order to distinguish it, they were also called "X Troops" by Stilwell. Of course, these two armies were also included in the so-called "five main forces", and in the final stage of the Liaoshen Campaign, they were completely annihilated by the Northeast Field Army in the western Liaoning region.
The so-called "expeditionary force system" refers to the "Y troops" that carried out the counter-offensive in western Yunnan, and a considerable number of them were also sent to the northeast, such as Chen Mingren's 71st Army, Zhou Fucheng's 53rd Army, and so on, and these troops were all destroyed in the Liaoshen area (after the 71st Army was rebuilt, it was destroyed by Siye in Hunan). The two armies of the Northeast Dian Army were almost all the field possessions of Long Yun and Lu Han, that is, the 60th Army and the 93rd Army, which were well known to have been annihilated and revolted in Jinzhou and Changchun respectively.
Then there was Fu Zuoyi's Suiyuan troops, who were quite capable of fighting, who had broken away from the Jin Sui Army, hesitated to rub their hands in north China, and as a result, the Northeast Field Army, which had secretly entered the customs, combined with the field troops of the North China Military Region, was besieged in the Pingjin area, and finally one of them was annihilated and one of the Suiyuan troops, and the Suiyuan troops that had been rampant for a while were destroyed. Obviously, in the Battle of Pingjin, Lin Biao's Northeast Field Army was definitely the main force in combat, so he served as the "Commander of the Pingjin Front", and after the Pingjin Campaign, the Northeast Field Army was officially renamed the Fourth Field Army.
Then there was Bai Chongxi, "China's most cunning warlord", and the two Guangdong troops in the Republic of China period were absolutely capable of fighting, and the main forces of the Northern Expedition were the Cantonese Army and the Gui Army. Therefore, although Bai Chongxi only had more than 200,000 troops, the harm was by no means less than Tang Enbo's 450,000 men and horses, and the Siye army completely annihilated the Gui military group through the Battle of Hengbao and the Battle of Guangxi, and in the previous "Battle of Yisha", he also beat the central army Song Xilian's troops with a blue nose and swollen face.
During the operations in South China, Siye and commanded the Fourth Corps of Erye, severely damaged the Yu Hanmou group of the Cantonese army, killed and wounded more than 70,000 of them, and fled to Hainan Island. Lin Biao, on the other hand, adhering to the guiding ideology of annihilating the poor and poor, sent the 15th Corps to liberate the Leizhou Peninsula and Hainan Island one after another, defeated Xue Yue and his only 4th Army, and basically eliminated the remnants of Chen Jitang and Yu Hanmou, that is to say, the Cantonese army that existed longer than the Gui clan during the Republic of China period was also wiped out under the sweep of the four fields.
Excluding the Zhang Yi corps and Chen Mingren corps that revolted in Henan and Hunan, the Fourth Field Army successively wiped out all the troops stationed in India, most of the expeditionary army, most of the Dian army, all of the Suiyuan army, all of the Gui army, and most of the Guangdong army, swept away a number of warlord troops that could fight the most outside the central army of Chiang Kai-shek, and greatly accelerated the process of the war of liberation.
As for the famous enemy generals who fell from their horses, there were four commanders (or acting commanders) of the expeditionary force during the anti-Japanese period: Du Yuming, Chen Cheng, Luo Zhuoying, and Wei Lihuang. During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, bai Chongxi, acting commander of the Fifth Theater (director of the Guilin Camp), Yu Hanmou, commander of the Seventh Theater, Xue Yue, commander of the Ninth Theater, Fu Zuoyi, commander of the Twelfth Theater, and Chen Jitang, the former "King of the Southern Heavens," were even more numerous.
The "Complete History of the Chinese People's Liberation Army" published by the Military Science Publishing House in 2000, in appendix VI of the eighth volume, gives authoritative data on the annihilation of the enemy by each unit during the Liberation War: 2643588 annihilated by the fourth field army, 1901696 annihilated by the enemy in the third field army, 1489570 annihilated by the enemy in the second field army, 694543 annihilated by the enemy in the first field army, 802479 annihilated by the field troops of the North China Military Region, and 25,192 by guerrilla units in southern provinces. The total number of enemy destroyers was 7557068 (from July 1, 1946 to June 30, 1950, before and after).
It can be seen that the Northeast Field Army and later the Four Fields Army had the greatest military achievements during the Liberation War, and at the same time, their own strength also developed to the first place among the field armies (by 1950, all the troops of the Four Fields and the Central and South Military Region reached 1.5 million, and the Sanye and East China Military Regions had about 1.2 million people).
Well, today's sharing ends here, and we'll see you next time
