In "Romance of the Three Kingdoms", Xing Daorong's appearance and end are very short. However, if you look at it seriously, Xing Daorong, a general, is a brave and strategic general. Unfortunately, due to zhuge liang, zhang fei, Zhao Yun and other opponents, his brilliance was suppressed.

This story takes place in the fifty-second episode of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Zhuge Liang Zhi Ci Lu Su Zhao Zilong Ji Guiyang. It is said that in order to expand the territory and build a foundation, Liu Bei accepted Ma Liang's suggestion and took the four counties of Jingzhou in the south. Of these four counties, the first county to be taken is Lingling. Liu Du ( 劉度 ) the Taishou of Lingling consulted with his son Liu Xian ( 劉贤) on countermeasures.
Liu Xian said to his father what Han Fu had said:
Although he has the courage of Zhang Fei and Zhao Yun, my general Xing Daorong of This State, who is strong against ten thousand people, can resist. Therefore, Liu Du asked Liu Xian and Xing Daorong to lead more than 10,000 soldiers and horses out of the city for thirty miles to resist Liu Bei.
From this point, we can see that Xing Daorong can be described as an old-fashioned man. He did not trap the lonely city, but went out of the city to meet the battle. Form your own Dazhai and Lingling City into a corner. Just such a deployment is far better than Lü Bu's defense of Pi Duoyi.
We look at Liu Bei, Liu Bei attaches great importance to the attack on Lingling, and the siege army can be called the luxurious lineup since he led the army. Unfortunately, because Xing Daorong relied too much on his own martial courage, he fell into Liu Bei's position too deeply, and the retreat was cut off by Zhao Yun. At this time, there was Zhao Yun blocking the way in front of him, and Zhang Fei chasing after him, xing Daorong faced two of Liu Bei's five tiger generals, and he definitely couldn't fight, but there was nowhere to escape. At this time, Xing Daorong had only two choices, one was to die in battle, and the other was to surrender.
However, Xing Daorong was worthy of being a brave and resourceful general, and between the lightning stone fire, he chose the third choice to surrender, and Xing Daorong immediately dismounted and asked for surrender. He followed Zhao Yun to Liu Bei's camp and used clever words to deceive Liu Bei and Zhuge Liang.
Although Liu Bei wanted to behead Xing Daorong, Xing Daorong knew it in his heart, because this was liu bei's first battle against the four counties of Jingnan, he would not kill prisoners indiscriminately, and his own safety was guaranteed. Therefore, in the face of Liu Bei's threat, he was not afraid at all. When he deceived Zhao Yun, he thought of a way to deal with it.
He deceived Zhuge Liang and asked him to rob the village at night, and he was willing to be willing to respond internally. Again Xing Daorong was killed by Zhao Yun.

He decided to win the defeat and returned to his division to fight Liu Bei's camp. Here, we can see that Xing Daorong's outstanding quality is the quality of never giving up until victory is achieved. His strategy, if faced with ordinary opponents, really has the possibility of success.
However, his plan failed in front of Zhuge Liang, and halfway through he was killed by the ambushed Zhao Yun, Liu Xian was captured, and Liu Du was forced to surrender. Zhao Yun had no choice but to kill Xing Daorong, because as long as Xing Daorong lived, Liu Du and Liu Xian would have something to rely on, and Lingling would not surrender. Liu Xian shouted at Dao Rong: "You can't enter the village, but you go to rob Kong Ming village." So he returned to the army. Not ten miles away, Zhao Yun led an army to stab out obliquely, and a shot stabbed Dao Rong under the horse.
From this offensive battle in the southern part of Jingzhou by Liu Bei, we can see that in the whole of Jingnan, there is only xing Daorong, a good man, and Liu Bei and Zhuge Liang regard him as the most important opponent. Because if it was for ordinary generals, they would not ambush Zhao Yun between the Xing Daorong camp and their own camp, but only between the Xing Daorong camp and Lingling City.
