BAIC Group has once again made important personnel adjustments. On the afternoon of January 7, BAIC BJEV insiders confirmed to the China Business Daily reporter that Liu Yu, chairman of BAIC BJEV, was promoted to deputy general manager of BAIC Group. At the same time, Gong Yueqiong, chairman of Foton Motor, was also promoted to deputy general manager of BAIC Group, and Gong Yueqiong's position has been updated on a search platform.
This is the third important personnel adjustment at the group level since Jiang Deyi took office.
In July 2020, BAIC Group changed coaches, and Jiang Deyi served as the party secretary and chairman of BAIC Group. After taking office, Jiang Deyi acted low-key externally, but has been actively promoting internal reform and the integration and development of independent brands.
In October 2020, Jiang Deyi adjusted the internal organizational structure and personnel for the first time after taking office three months after taking office, that is, the integrated BAIC Marketing Company was upgraded from a third-level company to a second-level company, directly managed by the group, and the chairman was Liu Shijin, the former director of the operation and management department of BAIC Group. This measure is seen by the outside world as baic group's attempt to use marketing as the focus to promote the overall development of its own brands.
Only two months later, at the end of December 2020, BAIC Group ushered in the largest personnel adjustment since Jiang Deyi took office, involving a number of important positions such as BAIC Shares, BAIC BJEV, BAIC Foton, Hainachuan, and BAIC Research Institute. This adjustment is equivalent to BAIC Group reorganizing the authority of the core executives of each sector and giving its companies more room for independent play. Under the strategic framework of the Group, during 2021, the senior management of BAIC BJEV and Foton Motor will continue to have new blood to join.
The management team is getting younger
In the previous personnel adjustments, it is not difficult to see that the senior management of BAIC Group is getting younger and younger.
In this personnel adjustment, Liu Yu and Gong Yueqiong are both "post-75" old BAIC people.
Liu Yu, born in 1976, served as deputy general manager and general manager of Beijing Automotive Sales Co., Ltd. from November 2012 to October 2015, director of the purchasing center of Beijing Automotive Co., Ltd. from October 2015 to June 2016, vice president of Beijing Automotive Co., Ltd., and concurrently served as the president of the Automotive Research Institute of Beijing Automotive Co., Ltd. from October 2016 to June 2018 From June 2018 to June 2020, he served as vice president of BEIJING Motor Co., Ltd. and executive deputy general manager of Beijing Hyundai Motor Co., Ltd. In July 2020, he became the general manager and party secretary of BAIC BJEV, and in January 2021, he was promoted to the chairman of BAIC BJEV.
Gong Yueqiong was also born in 1976 and has been working in Beiqi Foton for more than 10 years. In October 2004, Gong Yueqiong started as deputy manager of the financial planning department in Beiqi Foton and was promoted to manager four years later. In the years since, Gong Yueqiong has successively served as the assistant general manager of Beiqi Foton Group, the manager of the financial planning department, the manager of the group's comprehensive management department, the financial person in charge, the group vice president, the manager of the group's financial planning department, the executive deputy general manager, the deputy secretary of the party committee, the secretary of the party committee, the director, the general manager and other positions. In August 2019, Gong Yueqiong was promoted to Party Secretary and General Manager of Foton Motor Group, chairman of Foton Daimler, and chairman of Foton Automotive Group in January 2021.
Create the main architecture and efficient and collaborative operation mechanism
At present, BAIC Group has new independent brands such as ARCFOX, BEIJING Auto, Beijing Off-Road, BEIQI Foton, etc., as well as major joint venture brands such as Beijing Benz and Beijing Hyundai.
In recent years, BAIC Group has paid more and more attention to the development of its own brands. Jiang Deyi once stressed at the work deployment meeting of BAIC Group: "The era of automobile companies participating in competition with market-oriented capabilities and winning the future with independent control of core technologies will come in an all-round way." In 2020, BAIC BJEV launched the pure electric vehicle brand Jihu, which wants to break through to the independent high-end. In less than two years, Polar Fox currently has Alfa T, Alpha S and Alpha S Huawei HI versions in cooperation with Huawei.
Relevant information shows that in the 2021 China Top Ten Body Selection, Jihu Alpha S won two awards with the unique body structure of "upper steel and lower aluminum" and many safety designs "black technology". At the same time, Jihu Automobile has realized the overseas export of technology, and has licensed intellectual property rights to overseas twice, namely, the intellectual property rights related to the electronic and electrical E/E architecture of the Jihu Alpha T model developed based on the BE21 platform, and the relevant intellectual property rights of the framework chassis technology of the BE21 platform.
It is worth noting that this model has three "world's first" titles. First of all, it is the world's first mass production car equipped with Huawei's HI full-stack intelligent driving solution; secondly, it is also the world's first mass production car to support high-end intelligent driving on urban roads; and finally, it is also the world's first pure electric car equipped with Hongmeng OS.
Previously, Jiang Deyi had said that the core competitive advantage of BAIC Group around products, technologies and services was not enough. In order to enhance the core competitiveness of BAIC before the window period when the new pattern of the stock game is fully formed, it is necessary to intensively form a full value chain, vertically integrated autonomous system architecture and efficient and coordinated operating mechanism, and focus on the advantages accumulated by various research and development sectors over the years.
Relevant information shows that BAIC first integrated the system management. An independent special class has been set up to clarify the business positioning and development rhythm from the actual situation, give full play to the main role of each vehicle plate, and accelerate the formation of a vertically integrated system architecture and efficient and coordinated operation mechanism of the whole value chain such as research and development, procurement, manufacturing, and marketing services.
Secondly, in terms of brand combing, market-oriented, decentralized into concentrated, re-layout brand architecture, focusing on ARCFOX Polar Fox, Beijing two major independent passenger car brands, as well as Futian, Changhe and other independent commercial vehicle brands, forming a brand camp that rides both business and business.
Third, the R & D system was reconstructed, and the original Research Institute, The Joint Stock Research Institute, the New Energy Engineering Institute, and the Off-road Vehicle Research Institute were integrated, so that everyone could take out the best things in their hands, unify the planning of "strong and complementary", and make every effort to create a new highland for scientific research in the capital's automobile industry, while building a "dual battlefield" R&D organization and management model, and dispatching R&D teams to the front line of the "war zone" to quickly respond to market demand for product development. Realize integrated research and development, and rely on the National Innovation Center to continue to deepen the "three electricity", intelligent network connection, vehicle specification chip and other fields.
