The Tang Dynasty poet Zhang Hu (hù), from a famous and prestigious family, known as Zhang Gongzi, is a poet highly respected by Du Mu, leaving us with many famous sentences, and the earliest contact with it may be the "Palace Words" on the selected middle school Chinese textbook:

Twenty years in the deep palace.
A voice of He Manzi,
Before the tears fell.
Twenty words profoundly revealed the tragic inner world of the women in the deep palace. After the poem was completed, it did not go away, and even flowed into the Forbidden Palace, and the palace ladies who were related to each other sang with tears.
When Tang Wuzong was seriously ill and incurable, he asked his beloved Meng Cairen at the bedside: "The emperor will soon die, how do you plan?" "This is actually to let her be buried and accompany herself to walk the Yellow Spring Road." It seems that Tang Wuzong's possessiveness is really strong, and before that, he also ordered people to carve the lifeless "Fengqiao Night Berth" into a poetry stele with the intention of burial, and ordered future generations not to carve the "Fengqiao Night Berth" into a poetry stele. Now, he even had to monopolize the living Meng Cai people to death.
Meng Cairen said with tears: "The concubines are willing to commit suicide and continue to serve Your Majesty under the Nine Springs." Let the concubines present the last song to His Majesty now. So he began to sing, "O homeland... Three thousand miles, the deep palace... Twenty years..." Just after singing the third sentence, "A Sound of He Manzi", the feeling of self-pity and sorrow coming from it was irrepressible and silent. Tang Wuzong hurriedly ordered the maid to check it out, and the Meng Cairen, who was both beautiful and artistic, had already lost his breath and died.
Zhang Hu was sad after hearing about this incident, and wrote a poem "Meng Cai Ren Sigh" for it:
Meng Cai sighed
Occasionally because of the song of the song,
Sing the Twelve Springs of the Palace.
But for a voice of He Manzi,
The lower spring must hang the old talents.
The "He Manzi" mentioned in the poem was a popular song at that time, and the tune was extremely mournful. Bai Juyi's "Listening to songs and six sentences" has a detailed introduction:

It is said that manzi is a personal name,
When the sentence is imminent, the song begins.
A song of four poems and eight stacks,
From the beginning is the sound of a broken intestine.
And a note was made, to the effect that during the Kaiyuan period, there was a singer named He Man in Cangzhou, who was sentenced to death for a crime, and he knew that today's son loved music, so he offered this song to ask for redemption, but Tang Xuanzong did not agree. In a poem by Yuan Shu, it is said that He Man's request was successful. Yuan and Bai are in the same era, or they are best friends, they should have seen and heard the same, but the record of this matter is diametrically opposite, which shows how difficult it is to seek the truth in the sand panning for gold in the long river of history. If Tang Xuanzong really agreed to He Man's request to avoid death with Qu, it meant that he had already shifted from the first half of his life to the second half of his life when he was dying as a plaything and loving the law.
The poem "Palace Words" made Zhang Hu famous, but it was this poem that made him depressed all his life, which was really unexpected.
The chancellor Ling Huchu cherished Zhang Hu's talents, so he strongly recommended to the emperor that such a talented and famous person should be entrusted with a heavy responsibility. When Zhang Hu came to the imperial capital Chang'an with great enthusiasm, the emperor summoned Yuan Shu, one of the leaders of the literary world, and asked: "From Aiqing's point of view, how can Zhang Hu, who wrote the Palace Words, be able to do?" Yuan Shu replied lightly: "This kind of poetry belongs to the carving insect trick, and the strong man is ashamed and does not do it." If His Majesty rewards and promotes him, I am afraid that it will not be beneficial to weathering. ”
The emperor thought about it too, and couldn't help but nod his head slightly, saying: "This poem exposes the painful life of the palace women, and the women of the good family are scared half to death when they read it, who wants to enter the palace in the future?" ”
As a result, Zhang Hu, who was famous all over the world, had to return lonely, and also wrote two poems to laugh at himself: "He Zhizhangkou said in vain, Meng Haoran's body is even more unquestionable." That is to say, even if There is a Bole like He Zhizhang who is dry-mouthed and dry-tongued, it is futile, and he is the fate of Meng Haoran's lifelong white Ding.
Zhang Hu's friend Du Mu was indignant about this and wrote a poem "Rewarding Zhang Hu to See Sending Long Sentences and Four Rhymes" to comfort him:

Du Mu praised Zhang Hu's literary talent as surpassing the "Seven Sons of Jian'an", and his political talent to command Cao Cao and Liu Bei, although he wrote such a masterpiece as "Three Thousand Miles of the Homeland", which was sung by the six palaces, it was a pity that he did not meet such recommenders as Kong Rong and Qu Tong, so the ideal of serving the country became an empty dream.
