The Winter Sports Management Center of the State General Administration of Sport recently announced the qualification selection method for athletes in the bobsleigh, snowmobile and steel frame snowmobile events of the Beijing Winter Olympic Games, clarifying the conditions, scope and selection criteria for athletes.
According to the selection method, the selection scope of bobsleigh athletes is athletes born before July 1, 2006, registered with the International Bobsleigh Federation (FIL) and participated in the 2021-2022 International Bobsleigh Federation World Cup (including the National Cup), and met the minimum qualification standards for bobsleigh events at the Beijing Winter Olympics before January 10, 2022.

The scope of selection of snowmobile athletes is based on the tasks of the State General Administration of Sport and the Winter Games Center of the General Administration of Sport to prepare for the Beijing Winter Olympic Games. According to the women's single snowmobile, women's double snowmobile, men's double snowmobile, and men's four-person snowmobile, the helmsman and cart driver/brakeman are selected one by one.
The steel frame bobsleigh event will determine the athlete list in the form of an Olympic selection event. Athletes participating in the Olympic selection of the steel frame bobsleigh event are required to complete at least 6 races in at least 3 different tracks in the 2021-2022 IBSF (International Snowmobile and Steel Frame Bobshoe Federation) season, and the IBSF year-end ranking is within 60 places for men and 45 places for women.
