In order to explore the true endurance performance of the AION LX Plus in winter, we deliberately did a long-distance test. From Beijing, through Tangshan, and finally to Qinhuangdao, including urban roads, provincial highways, highways and other scenes.
First, depart from Beijing to The Hobbit Town of Tangshan, Hebei Province, and then from Tangshan to Qinhuangdao. This part does not take the highway, only the national highway and the city/country road, with a total length of about 420 km.

On the whole, the high-speed road accounted for 40% of the test section, and the low-speed road accounted for 60%, which is closer to the daily driving scene of ordinary pure electric users. In addition, the average daytime temperature on the day of the test was around 4 °C, and at night it was about -8 °C. The low temperature is the biggest test of this endurance test. But surprisingly, the final test score of the AION LX Plus exceeded our imagination.
After a round-trip journey of 675km, the average power consumption of 100 km is 17.5kWh, and the final cash rate of AION LX Plus is as high as 81.9% (144.4/17.5*100/1008 = 81.9%), calculated by the battery capacity of the whole pack of 144.4kWh. What is the concept of this test result? For the northern winter, no matter which car company, the battery life redemption rate can reach 80% is already an excellent standard. ■1000km+ endurance thanks to "sponge silicon anode chip battery technology"
To explain why it is so difficult to understand the "long endurance + winter cash rate of 80%+", we must first understand why lithium batteries do not "carry freeze" in winter.
First of all, the temperature in winter is low, especially in the north, and it is common to be below zero. Low temperature will directly affect the activity of lithium batteries, and to restore battery activity, it is necessary to consume electricity to heat the battery, and part of the power is sent to be a "part-time", which naturally affects the overall cruising range.
The working state of lithium batteries is relatively easy to understand, and all lithium ions are stored to the negative electrode, which is usually composed of graphite, and includes electrolyte and diaphragm between the positive and negative poles. When charging, the lithium ions are de-embedded from the positive electrode, and the electrolyte is embedded in the negative electrode, the negative electrode is in a lithium-rich state, and the positive electrode is in a lithium-depleted state. The reverse is true when discharging.
Using a simple analogy, if lithium ions are workers, then the negative electrode is the home of lithium ions, and the positive electrode is the place of work, and lithium ions generate the electrical energy that drives the operation of the vehicle by "swimming" from the negative electrode to the positive electrode. In other words, the bigger the "home", the more "workers" can be occupied, which can generate more production capacity.
In theory, the larger the energy storage of the battery anode material, the higher the energy density of the battery. Well, it's time to give the workers a "big house."
As mentioned earlier, the anode material of conventional lithium batteries is graphite, and the theoretical specific capacity of graphite is 372mAh/g, but the theoretical specific capacity of silicon is as high as 4200mAh/g, which is more than 10 times that of graphite, which is simply the perfect "big villa".
Although the specific capacity of the silicon material is large enough, there is a more troublesome bug, that is, after the lithium ion is embedded, it will cause the lattice of the silicon anode material to expand by up to 300%, which can easily lead to the powdering and shedding of the silicon anode, which eventually leads to a serious attenuation of the battery capacity.
In order to cope with the "bad temper" of the silicon anode material, GAC Aeon turned the silicon anode sheet into a soft and elastic "sponge texture", so that the expansion after the lithium ion is embedded has been effectively alleviated and inhibited, and there will be no chalking and shedding.
