Recently, Disney applied for a new patent, through which you can experience the virtual world without any headset device, and Disney hopes to fully immerse its customers in the "virtual world simulator" through the latest AR technology.
The patent was filed on December 28, 2021, and Disney described this "virtual world simulator" as a hardware processor, a combination of a "tracking system" and a communication "projection device" that allows users to interact as they walk through the venue.
Essentially, the setup configures itself as the specification of the projection space, using this information to simulate real vantage points and other virtual effects that support the experience. From this, it can be assumed that Disney is building a theme park with AR technology, where visitors can experience the entire 3D virtual world without the need for a headset device.
But so far, there are few details about this AR patent. It is unclear whether Disney's theme parks will be expanded or modified for this purpose.
Disney has listed several different possibilities in its official filings, and there are too many directions to choose to adopt the idea, including stage performances, interactive displays throughout the theme park, and special effects during Disney parades and other events.
