There were two female emperors in history in the Tang Dynasty, and the first was not Wu Zetian

Speaking of female emperors in history, nine people out of ten will think of Wu Zetian, in fact, Wu Zetian is not the only female emperor in history, there are four emperors, and listen to me in detail.

There were two female emperors in history in the Tang Dynasty, and the first was not Wu Zetian

1. Northern Wei Yuan girl

The Northern Wei Dynasty, which occurred during the Northern and Southern Dynasties, was born in 528 AD, the daughter of her father Xiaoming Emperor Yuanxu and Pan Chonghua, and the only imperial daughter, and her grandmother was Empress Hu, who was skilled in power and scheming.

Empress Dowager Hu was politically arbitrary and unruly in her life, causing dissatisfaction among her courtiers, and Emperor Xiaoming secretly ordered Xiu Rongchuan, Hao Chieftain, and Zhu Rong to lead troops to Luoyang to coerce Empress Dowager Hu, and Empress Dowager Hu joined forces with Wang Yuanyong of Gaoyang to seize power and once again control the imperial government. Just when the Yuan girl was born, Emperor Xiaoming died mysteriously, Empress Hu pretended to be a prince, embraced the emperor, amnesty the world, the era name Wutai, just like this, the first female emperor in Chinese history ascended the throne, and later Empress Hu faced the people's hearts and minds, announced the identity of the Yuan girl, and deposed the Yuan girl.

Hastily ascended to the throne, hastily deposed, and no name is left in the history books.

2. Emperor Wenjia Chen Shuozhen

It is recorded in the Zizhi Tongjian: "In the beginning, Chen Shuozhen, a woman in Muzhou, deceived the people with her demon words, and rebelled against her brother-in-law Zhang Shuyin, calling herself "Emperor Wenjia." ”

During the reign of Emperor Gaozong of Tang, in the fourth year of Yonghui, there was a flood in the Zhejiang area that had not been encountered in a hundred years, and the imperial court ignored it, resulting in the people's livelihood. Chen Shuozhen secretly opened the granary to relieve the victims and was caught. The people spontaneously organized themselves to rescue Chen Shuozhen. Chen Shuozhen organized a peasant uprising and called herself "Emperor Wenjia", and her team developed into 10,000 people in a short period of time, confronting the government and capturing many cities.

Unfortunately, later the imperial court began to pay attention to it and sent troops to suppress it, and Chen Shuozhen and others were captured and killed within a few months.

In Chinese history, countless women participated in peasant uprisings, but the women who were leaders were like the morning star, and the only woman who was a leader and emperor was Chen Shuozhen.

3. Emperor Wu Zetian of the Holy Spirit

Wu Zetian, the only orthodox female emperor in Chinese history, was the oldest (67 years old) and one of the longest-lived emperors (82 years old).

Wu Zetian reigned for a total of 15 years, from entering the palace at the age of 14 to becoming a talented person of Tang Taizong, to the time of Emperor Gaozong of Tang, to the title of Empress Dowager, and after the death of Emperor Gaozong, he was appointed empress dowager as Emperor Zhongzong of Tang and Emperor Ruizong of Tang, and then called emperor. Wu Zetian spent 52 years to accomplish what all women in history have not been able to accomplish in their lifetime.

Fourth, Liao Yelüpu is finished quickly

Yelü Pusu, daughter of Emperor Yelü Dashi of Liaodezong and sister of Emperor Yelü Yilie of Liaorenzong. In 1163 AD, Yelü Pu's elder brother Yelü Yilie of Xiliao Renzong died, and the crown prince Yelü Zhilugu was young, and his will allowed his sister Yelü Pu to complete the imperial system. In 1164, Liao Yelüpu was proclaimed emperor.

In 1178, Yerushalayim was shot and killed in a palace coup.

In Chinese history, there are women who have the strength to be called emperors, not only these four, from Empress Xuan of the Qin Dynasty to Empress Lü of the Han Dynasty, Empress Hu of the Northern Wei Dynasty, and finally Empress Dowager Cixi, although they did not claim the title of emperor, they also had the real power of the emperor, whether they were called emperors or not, these people have been left in history for eternity.
