Less than $250! Nokia Licensing will focus on the US market in the first half of the year will push 5 affordable mobile phones

HMD Global used CES 2022 to unveil details of its first Nokia phones of the year and announced agreements with two new U.S. partners who are looking to increase its presence in the market.

Its first-half release plans include five new phones priced below $250. HMD Global said the lineup will significantly increase its number of affordable phones in the U.S.

The Nokia G400 has been dubbed the "latest affordable 5G terminal" and sells for just under $240. It will be released in the second quarter alongside two less than $150 4G smartphones, the Nokia C200 and G100.

In the first quarter, HMD Global plans to launch the Nokia C100, a $99 4G smartphone, and the Nokia 2760Flip, the latest retro feature phone, which will cost $79.

HMD Global noted that it will announce the full specifications of each terminal near the time of release.

In addition to the upcoming phones, the Nokia licensing company also said dish Wireless and mobile virtual network operator Consumer Cellular have been added to its list of U.S. partners. Its phones are shipped through T-Mobile USA and mobile virtual network operator Tractone Wireless.

Cristian Capelli, HMD Global's vice president of North America, noted in a statement that it had "taken market share from some of the industry's most entrenched companies" in recent months, adding that its expanded list of U.S. partners was "just the beginning."
