On 31 December 2021, 4 asymptomatic infected people were reported in Luoyang City, 1 confirmed case was reported in Gushi, Henan, and 1 asymptomatic infected person was reported in Shangqiu on 5 January. At present, Henan has 6 infected people in Luoyang, Xuchang, Zhengzhou, Zhoukou, Gushi and Shangqiu, with a total of 11 local confirmed cases, 42 asymptomatic infected people, and 53 local infected people.

On January 5, a reporter from the Health Times combed through the existing information of the "Henan Release" and found that at present, the epidemic situation in Henan is distributed to many cities and counties. Zhengzhou has preliminarily identified three "transmission chains", of which Henan Gushi and Shangqiu infected people are related to Zhengzhou. On January 4, a press conference on the prevention and control of the new crown pneumonia epidemic in Zhengzhou pointed out that after the outbreak of this round of epidemics, more than 400 people from 134 professional circulation teams were organized at the county level in Zhengzhou for the first time to carry out in-depth circulation of key personnel activity trajectories, and "one person and one file" established a case relationship chart. At present, the three transmission chains of card friends, funeral banquets and families have been preliminarily investigated.

According to the Henan release, since Zhengzhou reported 2 cases of local asymptomatic infection on January 3, as of 18:00 on January 4, a total of 2 local confirmed cases and 9 asymptomatic infected people have been reported. Among them, 2 confirmed cases were distributed in the airport area and the Central Plains district. Among the 9 asymptomatic infected patients: 1 case in Guancheng District, 4 cases in Zhongyuan District, and 4 cases in Erqi District. According to the circulation information, on January 3, 2022, Zhengzhou City found 2 cases of asymptomatic infection, one of whom was a cleaning staff of a hotel in the airport area, and had not gone out for many consecutive days to work in a hotel in the airport area.

According to the circulation information of another case in Zhengzhou, he resided in the Aolan Heyuan Community in Guancheng District, and from December 20, 2021 to January 2, 2022, he would go to the same place every day to play cards, and in addition to holidays, he would also go to a kindergarten every day, and he attended a banquet on December 31, 2021.

On January 5, Gushi and Shangqiu each reported a new case of infection, both related to zhengzhou's Erqi District. An asymptomatic infected person in Shangqiu had dined in the same restaurant with a person who had initially screened positive in Erqi District of Zhengzhou City; the confirmed case of Gushi returned to Gushi from Erqi District of Zhengzhou by car at about 13:00 on January 3.

On January 5, the Department of Culture and Tourism of Henan Province issued a notice saying that in accordance with the spirit of the "Emergency Notice of the General Office of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism on Strictly grasping the Prevention and Control of the Epidemic in the Cultural and Tourism Industry", in order to further do a good job in the prevention and control of the new crown pneumonia epidemic in the cultural and tourism industry in the province, and prevent the spread of the epidemic. All localities should strictly implement the "circuit breaker" mechanism for the management of inter-provincial tourism business activities, and immediately suspend the operation of inter-provincial group tours and "air tickets + hotels" by travel agencies and online tourism enterprises in Henan Province.
