Sun Yilin and Stephen Wu were selected for the Manhattan Prosecutor Leadership Team

Alvin Bragg, a newly appointed Manhattan prosecutor, announced 18 key members of his leadership team this week, stressing that his team's purpose will be to attach equal importance to public safety and judicial justice. Among the 18 members, there are two members of Chinese descent, one of whom is Chanterelle Sung, who earlier served as assistant prosecutor under Vance and later resigned in anger over the National Treasure Bank case. The other is Steven Wu, the head of the appeals division who currently serves in the New York State Attorney's Office.

According to the Manhattan Prosecutor's Office, Ms. Sun will serve as Chief of Strategic Operations, responsible for ensuring that the prosecutorial team maintains a balance between community safety and justice.

Sun Yilin, the youngest daughter of Sun Qicheng, the founder of National Treasure Bank, appeared with her family in the famous documentary "Abacus: Small Enough to Jail" (Abacus: Small Enough to Jail). She studied political science at Princeton University from 1996 to 2000 and received her J.D. from Boston College in 2004. After graduating, she worked as an assistant prosecutor in the Manhattan Prosecutor's Office for nearly seven years, and after leaving in the summer of 2011, she served as an Inspector general in the New York City Government until February 2014. She then briefly served as Director of Monitoring and Compliance at the Storm Relief Office in the New York Governor's Office. For the past 6 years, she has served as Head of Strategic Planning and Compliance at Pfizer.

Another Chinese-American who joined Bai's team is Steven Wu, who currently serves as deputy attorney general in the New York State Attorney's Office and oversees the appeals business. He has been in the state attorney general's office for 13 and a half years. He previously spent one year as an assistant to Judge Diana Gribbon Motz of the Federal Fourth Circuit from 2005 to 2006 and then as a lawyer at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld for two years.

Stephen Wu grew up in San Marino, Southern California, graduating in sociology from Harvard University in 2002 and Yale Law School in 2005. It is reported that Stephen Wu will work in the state attorney general's office until March this year, and then take up a new position in the Manhattan District Attorney General.

Other new executive team members in the Prosecutor's Office include Meg Reiss, Sherene Crawford, Brian Crow, Leslie Dubeck, Carey Dunne, José Fanjul, Richard Fife, Gloria Garcia, Wesley Gibson, Susan Hoffinger, Audrey Moore, Peter Pope, Terri Rosenblatt, Joyce Smith, Jordan Stockdale, and Nicholas Viorst.

"We have brought together a group of experienced and distinguished professionals, including those who have worked in or led other offices, who bring a wealth of real-world work experience that will help restructure the Manhattan Prosecutor's Office and provide safety and justice for all," said the new prosecutor, Mr. Bai. ”
