It is reported that of the 39 confirmed cases announced on the same day, 34 cases involved infections of mutated virus strains, and the test results of the remaining 5 cases of mutated virus strains are to be determined. At present, Hong Kong has reported a total of 12,761 confirmed cases of covid-19.

When meeting with the media before attending the Executive Council on the same day, Chief Executive Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor said that the SAR government will implement a series of measures to expand the requirements of "vaccine bubbles" from February 24.
