Sony holds Marvel's hero copyright character
Film and television rights to Marvel characters
As we all know, Sony holds the film and television adaptation rights of Spider-Man and other surrounding comic book characters (such as: Venom, Dr. Octopus, Vulture, Mystery, etc.), and after the honeymoon period with Marvel, Sony executives have planned their own SUMC (Sony's Universe of Marvel Characters) movie universe with great fanfare.
Sony and Marvel's honeymoon period: Spider-Man was officially introduced to the Marvel Universe (MCU), Captain America 3, Avengers 3, Avengers 4, Sony did not participate in the investment and share. Marvel participated in Sony's production of The Spider-Man movie, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Hero Expedition, Marvel only participated in the production, and could only get 5% of the profit.
One of the most classic kiss scenes in spider-man film history
Sony launched Toby Maguire's version of the Spider-Man series in 2002-2007 and made a lot of money. In 1997, Marvel began to gradually reclaim the rights it had previously sold, and planned a Series of Marvel movies in 2005. 2008's "Iron Man" turned out to be a success, allowing Marvel to earn back $585 million, thus opening a decade of glory in the MCU movie universe.
The Amazing Spider-Man Andrew and Sister Stone
Marvel's top brass watched Marvel salivate, and in 2012, the movie plan to restart Little Spider-Man, Andrew Garfield's version of "The Amazing Spider-Man" arrived as scheduled. Originally, director Mark Webber had planned to launch the classic villain - the Evil Six in the third part, but the box office of "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" in 2014 was not as good as expected, and Sony cancelled the sequel to the series, which led to a honeymoon cooperation with Marvel.
Spider-Man: Heroes Without Return An unprecedented three generations in the same frame
Sony's second reboot was a resounding success (with the bonus of the Marvel MCU universe, the third generation of spiders shined), Marvel certainly could not be satisfied with only 5% of the profits, and Spider-Man 3: Homeless was shelved indefinitely. Under the efforts of the third edition of The Spider Tom Hollander, the two sides returned to the negotiating table. In the end, the two sides reached a new agreement, Disney (The new boss of Marvel) contributed 25% to Spider-Man 3 and received a net profit of 25%. Judging from the pre-sale of the film (the first day of pre-sale box office has exceeded the $357 million of "Avengers 4: Endgame"), this cooperation can be described as a real win-win.
Venom: Deadly Guardians
Sony saw the re-enlightenment of the little spider, and its ambitions swelled, and it continued to build its own SUMC. The first to bear the brunt is Venom, 2018's "Venom: Deadly Guardians" (played by Tom Hardy as Venom's symbiote Eddie, Michelle Williams as his girlfriend Annie), this is also a good and evil, and even occasionally a little cute alien creature, once released, it has gained a large number of fans. Despite mixed word-of-mouth, Venom still grossed $800 million worldwide.
Venom 2
Sony executives think that they have once again won the treasure, while the iron is hot, and they are working intensively to prepare for the sequel. In the fall of 2021, "Venom 2" opened, Douban 5.0, Rotten Tomatoes 59%. Living up to expectations, Sony stubbornly turned a superhero into the car, and Duo Dad's heart was really ten thousand (draft) horses galloping.
Slaughter mutant blood spiders
Venom 2 introduces new villains: "Scream" (Naomi Harris) and "Massacre" (Woody Harrison). Screaming can be described as a gorgeous opening, the ultimate battle to play soy sauce, hastily collared bento. Massacre – A perverted serial killer who, after biting Eddie and swallowing the blood of the venom, also mutates into a symbiote, the Blood Spider (with alien powers similar to venom).
Scream CP Massacre
The screaming character story is ambiguous, the story of the massacre is presented in cartoons, the personality is superficial, and it is difficult to stand up. What should be a perfect CP combination is in sharp contrast with the Venom human set- and the shoddy script makes the villain CP's role like soy sauce.
In 2016, Naomi Harris won the 88th National Critics Association Award for Best Supporting Actress for Moonlight Boy. Powerful her, acting screaming, teeth dancing claws, screaming and roaring, even if the character itself is a mentally disturbed "patient", there is no need to exaggerate the performance, such as the character setting, it is really unpleasant. Duo Dad saw the screaming appearance and once thought he was watching a stage play.
Woody Harrison of "Born To Kill" does not need to repeat his acting achievements. Born with a slightly neurotic signature look, every time he appears in the movie, he can leave a deep impression on Duo Dad. The character of the massacre, fortunately Woody, came by hand, but due to the limitations of the script, the character lacked a sense of layering.
The incumbent becomes the predecessor
Michelle Williams (born on the same day of the same month of the same year as Dopa), an Emmy Award for Best Actress, continues to play Eddie's girlfriend Annie in Venom 2, to be precise, the ex. It seems to be a very good emotional setting, which can shape the male protagonist more diversifiedly. However, thanks to the script, Anne's sense of existence in the movie is extremely weak, and a relationship line that ends without a disease is insignificant to the movie. Instead, Anne's current Dr Dan (Red Scott) is flattering and slightly surprised (usual American humor).
Tease CP Eddie and Venom
Finally, spitting out Eddie and Venom played by Tang Laoshi, the sequel should have been the plot of the symbiote "reconciliation" that people expected, but Duo Dad saw more like two children who were over the family arguing non-stop, and the result was that "reconciliation" evolved into "compromise". Are you sure this is a rating of PG-13 and not a G rating (popular, suitable for people of all ages)? Is the director worried that the filming has layers, and the audience is difficult to understand?
Tang Lao Wet and Michelle's opponent play
Compared with Toby Maguire's version of "Spider-Man 3", the "fusion" of spiders and venom to "breakup", the character's personality mutation, coupled with emotional frustration, all the processes have progressed, resulting in the male protagonist's personality more three-dimensional. "Venom 2" is a hasty stroke, using Michelle Williams as a decoration, Tang Lao Wet alone decorated the two corners of the family, and Duo Dad only had a sigh.
Venom runs away from home to attend a masquerade ball
One thing to say, some of the bridge settings/plots of "Venom 2" are still interesting. Eddie's pet chicken boy, Venom gambling gas "run away from home", masquerade ball, etc., will be "violent" Venom character cute, making the superhero who is both good and evil more grounded.
Venom: Deadly Guardians Douban 7.2, directed by Ruben Flescher, and written by Jeff Pickner / Scott Rosenberg / Kelly Marcel / Todd McFarlane / David Michelin.
Venom 2 Douban 5.0, directed by Andy Serkis and written by Kelly Marcel/Tom Hardy.
Ruben Fleischer has been involved in TV series/movies such as the well-known Zombie Paradise 1,2 and The Uncharted Spider, which will be released in 2022.
Andy Serkis, a famous British actor, made him famous worldwide for "Gollum" in "The Lord of the Rings", and "Rise of the Apes" made him nominated for Best Supporting Actor. Acting and directing, up to "Venom 2" has directed a total of 3 movies.
Vertical comparison, the reputation of "Venom 2" may be unexpected and reasonable.
Non-stop, "Venom 3" ("Venom vs Spider-Man") has been put on the agenda by Sony, or that director Andy Serkis, or that screenwriter Kelly Marcel, whether the story is wonderful, see you next time.
