All members of the Security Force were killed.
Subsequently, a large number of Japanese troops rushed into the city, and the city of Yangzhou fell quickly.
Date of the Fall of Yangzhou
After experiencing the burning and looting of the Japanese Kou, a large number of traitors began to appear on the scene and became the lackey slaves of the Japanese Kou to maintain local law and order.
Among them was Wu Xiaohou, the director of the puppet police headquarters, who began to organize Japanese and puppet institutions in a prepared manner before the fall of Yangzhou City. Soon after the Japanese Kou entered the city, they fell before the iron hooves of the other side, becoming the first batch of hardcore traitors after the fall of Yangzhou.
After this Wu Xiaohou surrendered to the Japanese, he helped the Japanese to loot the people's fat and people's ointment all day long, and did no evil.
Wu Xiaohou himself knew that what he did to help the Japanese would definitely be targeted by the anti-Japanese elements.
The Japanese army entered the city
Therefore, in order to prevent being killed by the hoe gang, Wu Xiaohou's daily defenses are very strict, not only are there guards in and out of the house, but even the walls of his family's house are also set up with dense power grid protection.
Even so, the members of the Anti-Japanese Volunteer Regiment found a perfect opportunity.
On the evening of September 8, 1938, at the invitation of Japanese officers, Wu Xiaohou went to the Rainbow House Hotel in Xiaodongmen to make an appointment.
On that day, Wu Xiaohou, who frequently raised a glass on the wine table, did not dream that at this moment, in the opposite corner of the hotel entrance, a sniper rifle was facing the entrance and exit of the hotel, waiting for his exit.
On weekdays, Wu Xiaohou had guards on both sides of the door, but that night, the drunken Japanese officer insisted on personally sending him outside the door.
Wu Xiaohou, who refused, had to stiffen his scalp and accompany the Japanese to the door, and then he stood on the steps with the interpreter Zhang Shaoqing and said goodbye to the Japanese officers.
At the moment, snipers were aiming at the exit of the hotel. Because there was no photograph of Wu Xiaohou in advance, the sniper could only judge according to the words and deeds of the people at the scene, when he saw a Chinese was talking with a Japanese officer.
The sniper felt that this person must be Wu Xiaohou, and then he decisively pulled the trigger.

When Wu Xiaohou was about to turn around and leave, a gunshot suddenly sounded in his ears, a hot wave of air brushed his cheek, and the blood flowers suddenly bloomed in front of his eyes, and Zhang Shaoqing suddenly fell on his back.

The scene was suddenly chaotic, and the Japanese troops present rushed in the direction of the gunshots, and Wu Xiaohou was suddenly paralyzed and paralyzed.
"Got it!" After the sniper on the opposite side hit the target with one shot, he quickly withdrew in the night.
That night, the members of the anti-Japanese volunteer regiment, who had succeeded in assassination, cheered and celebrated the removal of a great beetle that had brought calamity to the country. However, the news published in the newspaper the next day made everyone's mood sink to the bottom.
The assassination was wrong, which made everyone very frustrated, but also made up their minds to plan a second assassination.
After experiencing the translation assassination incident, the terrified Wu Xiaohou became more cautious, and after half a month of trembling, Wu Xiaohou gradually calmed down the feeling of the wind and noise.
However, just when he thought it had passed, the second assassination was actually getting closer and closer to him.
On September 28, 1938, the puppet government of Yangzhou prepared to hold a ceremony to sacrifice Confucius at the Temple of Literature on the same day, and Wu Xiaohou, as a government official, naturally had to go.
In order to seize the opportunity to intercept and kill Wu Xiaohou, the anti-Japanese volunteer regiment ambushed wu Xiaohou's inevitable place and quietly waited for the arrival of the traitors.
In the morning, Wu Xiaohou took a rickshaw and went to the Temple of Literature under the protection of several guards.

However, as they reached the sides of Sanyuan Lane, the members of the Volunteer Regiment who were passing by and disguised as civilians suddenly took out large knives and axes from their waists and arms and slashed at Wu's guards.
After breaking through the guards' protection, the two members of the Heroic Regiment slashed at Wu Xiaohou's body, and Wu Xiaohou was immediately cut to death.
After slashing several axes, the crowd hurried away while the Japanese army had not yet arrived. However, no one expected that Wu Xiaohou, who thought he would die of serious injuries, actually came back to life after being sent to the hospital for rescue.
However, although Wu Xiaohou was not removed twice, the terrible scars on Wu Xiaohou's face and head made every traitor who saw him later tremble with fear.
Since then, the traitors in Yangzhou City have greatly restrained their arrogance, and everyone can't help but think about whether Wu Xiaohou's fate will be their own tomorrow when they are doing wrong.
