Yunnan Provincial Ethnic Folk Song and Dance Exhibition and Performance is a high-standard, large-scale and widely influential provincial-level important cultural and artistic competition approved by the Provincial People's Government and jointly organized by the Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and the Provincial Ethnic and Religious Affairs Commission. In order to prepare for this exhibition and performance activity, since the beginning of this year, Lincang City has organized relevant experts to go deep into 8 counties (districts) to arrange and guide more than 100 literary and artistic works. After layers of selection, 5 literary and artistic works were finally selected to participate in this year's national folk song and dance exhibition.
After the selection of the Organizing Committee of this year's National Folk Song and Dance, the traditional vocal music "March 6 · "Gourd Pulling Vines and White Flowers" won the Inheritance Award, the innovative dance "Stepping on the Song and Colorful Clouds" won the Silver Award, the innovative vocal music "Singing to the Sun" won the Bronze Award, and the traditional instrumental music "Passing on the Torch" won the Excellence Award.
"March 6, gourd pulling vines and white flowers"

"Treading on the Clouds"

The dance is based on the 72-way folk song routine movements, dynamic rhythms of the Lahu ethnic group in Shuangjiang County, refining, processing and choreography. "Stepping on the Song and Colorful Clouds" shows that the Lahu maidens have entered a new era, and the flowers of happiness bloom everywhere. The headdresses on the girls are like rainbows in the sky, the high-pitched singing voices illuminate the Lahu Cottage, and the dancing steps are like jumping notes. "Singing to the Sun"

The wa traditional musical instruments are diverse and colorful. The most representative percussion instruments are the high-rhythmic and inspiring "wooden drum, beryllum gong, bamboo qin, bee barrel drum"; the wind instrument has the beauty of the mountains and the simple and thick "de, V, gourd flute"; the stringed instrument has a low tone, such as crying "monosoon"; plucked instruments have "small three strings" that pluck the heartstrings. These instruments have been combined into songs in the fields of Mount Awa, tunes by the fire pond, and melodies of the song field, which have been passed down to this day.
As the spool of inheritance, the wa girls and their mothers present the traditional musical instruments of the Wa people to the audience one by one, telling the context of the Wa mountain heritage and continuing the cry of Wa life. In the process of social history, Wa musical instruments have created a unique musical landscape of the Wa people in Cangyuan, which has been passed down from generation to generation.
