Since July last year, the China Academy of Fine Arts has set up a team of nearly 100 teachers and students to start the design of the Asian Games torch.
In the end, the Asian Games torch was designed with the Liangzhu culture derived from the 5,000-year history of Chinese civilization as the design concept, and was named "Fire", which means the time and space convergence and inheritance of Liangzhu culture and the Asian Games in 2022.

With Liangzhu Yuqun as a main image that runs through the entire torch, the pattern has always been an indispensable thing in our Chinese design. We chose the spiral pattern of Liangzhu, and each one is different, as if the fingerprint of your hand is pressed on the torch of our torch, it is a living pattern. Because the inheritance of the torch itself is also endless.
Compared with the traditional torch, the "Fire Torch" torch moves the small hole in the torch crown for oxygen input from the side to the top plane, and cleverly hides itself in the face pattern of the gods, people and beasts, which also makes the "Flame" appear more natural.
It's cleverly inside, and you'll feel that the thing is breathable, and the two-layer ignition conduction system inside is also connected.
According to the main creative team, the molding of the torch has undergone multiple steps such as conceptual structure design, process production, wind and rain test, and every detail from color, pattern to material has been deliberated several times. The entire wall of samples and torch samples in the studio is just the tip of the iceberg.
Each one actually has some different differences, and it is actually very tangled in the process of doing it.
After hundreds of program adjustments, the final "salary" is presented in front of our eyes. In addition to the teaching team, young designers and students participate in multiple projects such as literature research, pattern design, VR modeling, and morphological adjustment, which adds creativity and agility to the flame.

To be honest, I was very excited, the torch rising from that side was really exciting, and it felt like the effort was worth it.
When I really win the bid, it is still a feeling of mixed feelings, because such an opportunity is rare, and I think that every person in the Academy of Fine Arts can do (contribute) their own wisdom or work hard for such a thing, and they feel that they will be particularly proud.
