In 1948, after the liberation of eastern Henan and Wang Menglian returned to her hometown, she received a shocking piece of good news: her husband was still alive and could not help but cry with joy. The couple then lived a peaceful life.

On July 15, 2019, the elderly Wang Menglian passed away due to heart failure, calmly completing 93 years of life.
