At this time, Chang Yuchun arrived with a boat, and an arrow hit Zhang Dingbian's arm, and Zhang Dingbian was frightened and retreated, and Zhu Yuanzhang only then picked up a life.
In recognition of Chen De's loyalty, Zhu Yuanzhang made him the Marquis of Linjiang, hereditary resignation, and promised never to fail him. In the eleventh year of Hongwu, Chen De died of illness in his hometown of Fengyang due to a recurrence of arrow sores, and Zhu Yuanzhang was grateful for his life-saving grace and posthumously named him the Duke of Qiguo. Chen De's title was inherited by his son Chen Yong. In 1390, the Korean gong Li Sunchang was reported by the domestic slaves, who had participated in the Hu Weiyong conspiracy 10 years ago, Zhu Yuanzhang ordered a thorough investigation, and some people took the opportunity to make false accusations, saying that Chen Yong was also involved in the rebellion. Zhu Yuanzhang was furious and ordered the Linjiang Marquis to raid the family and exterminate the clan, only 27 years after Chen De blocked his arrows at Poyang Lake.
