I believe that many people have seen the movie "Kung Fu", there is an organized and large-scale gang called "Axe Gang" in the movie, and the gang leader is called "Brother Chen". But in fact, "Chen Ge" does have his own person in history, he is Wang Yaqiao, who was once famous for a while and was known as the first killer of the Republic of China.
Wang Yaqiao, whose ancestral home is in Hefei, Anhui Province, was born on February 14, 1889, and although he was born on Valentine's Day, life did not bring him happiness and romance. Wang Yaqiao's family was poor when he was young, but fortunately, his father knew medical skills and had little assets in the local area. Wang Yaqiao was brilliant since he was a child, followed his father, read a lot of books, and ranked in the top ten when he took the imperial examination at the end of the Qing Dynasty, and was a powerful figure. But at that time, China was in dire straits, and Wang Yaqiao had seen landlords and corrupt officials oppressing the local people since he was a child, and he had no intention of becoming an official, but instead liked to talk to young people with lofty ideals in neighboring counties about the survival of the country.
After the outbreak of the Wuchang Uprising in 1911, Wang Yaqiao, who was only 22 years old at the time, actively participated in the revolution, and later, after being introduced, he joined the Socialist Party and was responsible for giving speeches and propagating the ideas of the democratic revolution in various parts of Anhui. He was very good at this aspect, so he was very famous in anhui at that time. But this situation did not last long, and Wang Yaqiao was wanted by the local warlords for propagating revolutionary ideas. In desperation, he had to leave Anhui to take refuge in Shanghai and work as a coolie at the docks for a living. Although the conditions were difficult at that time, he still had a fiery revolutionary heart.
Perhaps it was his revolutionary enthusiasm that touched the heavens, Wang Yaqiao had the privilege of getting to know Dr. Sun Yat-sen, and he was soon impressed by Sun Yat-sen's wisdom and ideas, and began to follow Dr. Sun Yat-sen to do revolutionary work with all his heart. Wang Yaqiao proposed to Dr. Sun Yat-sen that in order to complete the revolution, it was necessary to use force, but at that time, Dr. Sun Yat-sen vetoed it.
But Wang Yaqiao has always felt that in such a chaotic world, only by resorting to force can the warlords be unified. Therefore, at his insistence, by chance, he took over a gang called the "Anhui Gang", which was later developed into the Axe Gang. Because they protected the interests of the working class, the Axe Gang soon developed and grew, becoming the largest gang in Shanghai, and Wang Yaqiao's name quickly spread throughout Shanghai Beach.
Prior to this, the largest gang in Shanghai was the Green Gang, and the leader, Du Yuesheng, was also a first-class fierce character at that time. But even Du Yuesheng did not dare to be tough with Wang Yaqiao, and often warned his subordinates not to have too much entanglement with them, let alone take the initiative to find things.
Wang Yaqiao had the title of "Assassination king", also after he founded the Axe Gang. It is said that at that time, he had many disciples, and the rickshaw drivers on the beach were his informants, so he could always be the first to know what news there was on the beach. During his time as a helper, Wang Yaqiao removed the traitor Xu Guoliang and the secretary of the Kuomintang finance minister Song Ziwen, and after the 128 Incident, Wang Yaqiao also organized the assassination of two Japanese officials in China, and in 1935, Wang Jingwei was also assassinated by him in Nanjing. These deeds made him the most feared person for the Japanese, the Kuomintang, and the traitors at that time, and the Japanese also called him the "Devil King of the World", which shows Wang Yaqiao's deterrent power.
Wang Yaqiao was once a brother of a different surname with Dai Kasa and Hu Zongnan, and later the other two went to the Whampoa Military Academy to be loyal to Chiang Kai-shek, and it was at this time that the positions of the three of them began to diverge. Wang Yaqiao assassinated Chiang Kai-shek several times, but for some reason he did not succeed. Since then, Chiang Kai-shek has been bent on killing him and never having any trouble. Finally, one day, Chiang Kai-shek felt that the time had come and asked Dai Kasa to get rid of him. Dai Kasa used Wang Yaqiao's red-faced confidant as bait, led him into a trap, and eliminated him in one fell swoop.
Although Wang Yaqiao is different from the hero we usually understand, he has always safeguarded the justice of ordinary people, made some contributions to the Chinese revolution with his own actions, and can be regarded as a heroic figure.
